The thing is, everything in modern society is sugar-coated. I personally believe that youngsters should be encouraged to decide what they want to listen to and watch, if some choose Bieber etc fair enough but it's almost like the stuff with truth behind it or anyhting that could gain a PG rating is hidden from young children.

I'm 16 (nearly 17)  so I was a late 90s kid and fortunately did experience some of the above listed things to a small amount, luckily I was mature enough to make my own decisions before the world was covered up.

Old Cartoon Network <3 I remember I had a skybox in my room just to watch that, the day they took it off Analouge Sky was nearly the end of my childhood, luckily I'd just got a PS1 =P

Anyway I came roughly in the middle of the 90's (94) so I am glad to have been entertained by so many wonderful children's shows on TV. I'm glad that I despise anything that is "eye candy" in the music world. Basically I'm just glad that I was born in the 90's, nuff said.

It's not that the content is any worse than it used to be, it's just that you resent children being able to live their care-free childhoods right now in the present, whilst you're having to struggle through work, university, relationships and money issues. Real life has hit you where as the children you're subconsciously jealous of, are able to enjoy their versions of the stuff that was pumped out at us when we were nippers.

I'd put it down to a very basic form of bitterness and wanting to relive the highs of childhood, rather than the content actually being poorer. And if it is genuinely poorer, then it's more likely our generation that are producing the poorer content for the kiddies - so we're to blame!
