Ideas for photography locations close to London?

Just curious if anyone has any suggestions.. So do you know of any interesting locations for photography close enough to get to from London? Im looking for nice scenery and preferably few people about so not tourist type locations, at the moment im thinking a beach but dont know which would be good for photography. Also I dont mind the weather, so basically any good beaches, parks or london streets?

Do you really need to travel at all? It's just that there are great photo oportunities all around, all thats needed is a bit of imagination. No?

My old photography (LINK) Those are either in my garden or in the field outside of my house.

I have taken hundreds of photos around here which is why I have started moving outwards lol. I took some in London for the first time and I enjoyed walking about getting lost so I just want to see new places. I dont do photography just for the photos, I like to travel new places.

i think croydon was meant as a joke. but then again it would be a challenge to find something of beauty there, a new angle. beaches, flowers and so on have be photographed since the dawn of the camera. but croydon?

Re: Ideas for photography locations close to London?

Greenwich would be a place I suggest.

From top of Greenwich Park, viewing the Naval College and Observatory and the river Thames down below with a great skyline view of the City of London.

Many places in Greenwich make great viewing.  Lovely place.  Just google image it and you see what I mean.

As for Croydon, it may be a joke but still it has some decent spots.  I'm sure you could do something that looks good in a photo with the tram network or the parks it has or it's market.

Yh I do like grunge type looks so it could work however to be honest I doubt Croydon will look that much different from Essex, some gritty areas round here lol. I think a beach could work as it is raining lots lately so that could add something more interesting.

All cheers @scarycharacter. :smileytongue:

Not sure London is known for its beaches.

But there are loads of opportunities for photos in and around London. These are mine.
