Re: Iphone Contract Help

If you live in the UK, you will be able to walk into an Carphone Warehouse or O2 store and buy the iPhone for £269 and take it home straight away. With the iPhone, the user must activate their iPhone at home using the latest version of iTunes. The credit check is not done in-store but at home through iTiunes. If you fail your credit check, you can bring the phone back in and you will be given a full refund for the phone. Perhaps you may want to consider to iPod Touch at this stage?. You will require a valid credit or debit card to run the check, your address must match the card details and you must have a good credit rating to be eligible for a contract. If you pass your credit check, your phone will be activated and you will be able to choose from one of the three iPhone tariffs. http://shop.o2.co.uk/promo/iphonetariffs If you require your old number to be ported over, you will need to request a PAC key from your existing provider. This will be given to you at no extra charge.

Re: Iphone Contract Help

Is it heck. Having bad credit history means you have had the chance to have a good credit history but failed. Having no credit history means you have a chance to make it good. As long as you have regular income in to your bank account, and you obviously have no credit history due to perhaps just starting up a bank account (or whatever the reason is as to why you don't have a credit history) I don't see why the credit check will fail. Hopefully that helps!

the only money i get is ema money which is £30 a week, and £200 a month from my mums account. i dont know if i mentioned that im only just turning 18, so i havnt had any credit cards, bills to pay ect.

thanks for your help so far

Re: Iphone Contract Help

You can get a mobile contract fairly easily. At 18 you shouldnt have a problem getting a contract. You dont need a credit card to pay the bill, as long as you have a bank account that you can set up a direct debit you will be fine. Im getting myself one just after I get my christmas shopping all done. So as long as you have never filed bankrupcy, or been in thousands of pounds of credit card debt, I cant imagine you will have any problems with the credit check. Just make sure with your bank that you can set up a direct debit on your account. If you have a switch or a Maestro card that wont be a problem.

Re: Iphone Contract Help

Just like a throw-away Kodak camera is "just as good" as a Digital SLR?

Don't generalise the user base of a said product. How can you "be honest" and make such a generalisation when you don't use or own said product?

Hopefully, I won't need to quote that again.

omg do you always have to take the high ground the n95 has better features but the ipod has the novelty factor.

You're welcome, and like tauheedul kindly pointed out, there is always that full refund and no hassle if things unfortunately don't go your way -- which I highly, highly doubt.

I can start a full-on debate as to how the Nokia N95 is the worst choice of mobile phone to go with right now but I'd be wasting my time.

The N95 is better - better price, better tariffs, better camera, way better battery. Those are the most important things. Internet? Nice, but hardly the deciding factor. Neither is the slightly bigger screen.

Re: Iphone Contract Help

the N95 is probably the best fone on the market right now. although the W960i pushes it close.

Re: Iphone Contract Help

thanks in advance, and please dont come and say "dont buy an iphone" because my mind is made up.

There is a reason why I continuously quote this part of sham's opening post -- because it stops certain individuals known for trolling these kinds of topics. I'll quote it again but surely you can understand a) the reason why I am quoting this; to keep the peace and b) to stop the usual uninformed, generalisations some tend to make here.
