But you are washing your hands straight after that? Surely it is better to get "germs" on the thing that you will be washing in a few seconds rather than your elbow which you won't wash until you next get a shower.

I don't use soap in public toilets though, a quick splash and drying my hands on my jeans is enough unless my hands are actually dirty.

whats the point of cleaning products germs are everywhere thats why i dont shower any more or use soap or anything really

At my family gatherings we take it in turns to sneeze in each others face my nan bless her struggles to sneeze so she takes her teeth out and spits on us.

Automatic soap dispensers may be all well and good, however, I'd imagine that a few people would get themselves into a spot of bother when it came to turning the taps on/off, what with all those nasty germs lurking around. Have they solved that problem too?

They have automatic taps in the public toilets i use so you dont have to touch the tap after you have washed your hands. It just goes on and off as your hands are placed under them.

Isnt it only like 0.1% of germs that are dangerous anyway? So when you see adverts for some weird spray that kills 99.9% of germs you might just increasing the chances of catching the bad ones because they will be the only ones left.

Its slightly more complicated than that, its not 99.9% of *all* germs, just 99.9% of a range of normal household germs.

Less common germs dont even get tested, and the most dangerous are less common.

Pretty much 100% of the germs they test to kill are harmless anyway, nothing serious like hep A, or sars etc.

They also dont have to say what germs it killed and didnt. So it may indeed have killed all harmful germs and left harmless ones or vice versa.
