The last time I checked you could get an iPhone that way too - if you spend enough each month (I think it was around ten thousand pounds or something).

Anyway, I was hoping for a smaller (nano) version of the iPhone. I won't be troubling Apple to supply me with an iPhone 5.

Apparently it could be rocking a Cortex-A15 processor. Not too shabby.

Pretty sure you have to be mentally insane to spend £500 on a *****ing phone.

Works out cheaper buying it outright most of the time.

In what way ? My sister always gets the latest iphone. Should she buy it out right then ? I don't see how its cheaper; so I seek enlightenment please. thanks in advance

Right we'll just use the iPhone as it's relevant to this thread as an example.

With the iPhone the only way you'll get the handset 'free' is on tarriff of at least £36 a month (it could well be more with the new one), so over the course of a two year contract that will cost £864.

Now compare that to buying the phone at £529 and then say using Giffgaff for 24 months at £10 a month that equates to a total cost of £769 over two years, plus you'll have a SIM free phone too as opposed to one that will likely be network locked.

Re: Its almost here - September 12th

they usually come out at around £45 pcm contracts. If it came in for £32pcm of less than it would be worth it in the long term. compared to a phone+£10pcm+24mth

My contract expires in october but I'm gonna be cheap and downgrade to payg for a while :/

cheers James

Re: Its almost here - September 12th

£45?! Well that's even more than I expected  If you can afford it buying the phone outright is the best way imo.

Watched a hands-on video with it, the phone is quick. Opening/closing apps, scrolling and animations are quicker than the S3 or Note 2.

Probably due to the lack of background apps.
