Don't get PS+ yet. Give it a while and see what you like, and see if it interests you. PS+ is rubbish to be honest, because when you download stuff through PS+, you have to redownload it all over again when your subscription expires.

As far as games go there are a million threads and articles with suggestions but I'd always recommend either of the LittleBigPlanet series - completely different and something I might not have played if it hadn't come with the console.

#2 has the far superior create mode but I thought the story in the first was better. Either way you'll find a wealth of community created levels to play!

Best driving game I most enjoyed on PS3 is Wipeout HD although GT5 is vast and enjoyable in other ways.

I'd always recommend the Fallout series as RPGs go, don't know too much about the genre though.

Welcome to playstation friend. As games go its hard to recommend but if I had to recommend I'd say mass effect 2 and 3 - there RPGs with a brilliant story. As already said the uncharted trilogy. The resistance trilogy is very good too but they should be bought with single player only in mind as multiplayer isn't that good. Some of the ratchet and clank games, skyrim another rpg you wil get. 100 hours plus out of that, god of war collection 1 and 2 and god of war 3, and finally deus ex human revolution. Hope you enjoy whatever you buy

Let's start things off with some of the top PS3 exclusive series! - Uncharted, Littlebigplanet, Resistance, Killzone infamous

Now some good 3rd Party titles - Battlefield 3, Resident Evil 5, Dead Space 1 & 2, Mass Effect 2 & 3

I suggest first getting a few offline games such as Little Big Planet, Fallout 3 and Red Dead if you are feeling adventerous. Also when you want to start playing online get a COD game, it may have a terrible community but is a really good platform for online gaming (if you are inexperienced) as it is so simple and easy to pick up just mute everyone and don't plug in a headset.

Games to avoid:

Haze (avoid like the plague)

Duke Nukem

Brink

Megamind and generally any other kids games

What? A big part of little big planet is actually the online community and red dead also has online play.
