I have irritable bowel, but I just get on with things.

Its only recently people have been sleeping all night. In the past we used to sleep twice, We would go to bed at like 9 or 10, sleep for 4 hours wake up and get up out of bed, people would then pray, read, go for walks, go to their neighbours house for a chat. for an hour or two.

then return home for their second sleep.

Its literally only the last 100 years that we have not being doing that, I want to try 2 sleeps, i will some time.

Wow. Learn something new every day.

With anaemia, do you find yourself tired all the time and napping a lot?

I find that I forget things a lot.

Although I may be thinking of amnesia.

Re: Life with IBD! Most annoying thing ever!

By the sounds of things I'd love to have IBS rather than IBD. Ulcerative colitis has given me Arthritis in some of my joins, *shrug* No matter what you eat with IBD you still get it bad. I don't find eating causing flare ups, but I get flare ups pretty much everyday. I guess IBS is an completely different thing where the bowl is not surrounded by stupid inflammation and ulcers. Swap conditions with me =(!

I only learnt it pretty recently too, I knew before we didnt sleep all night, but I didnt know about the second sleep till a few weeks/months ago. I read an article with documentation from all over the world referring to "second sleep" at night all the way back to ancient times, it only stopped during the industrial revolution.

We used to sleep twice at night, and nap once during the day. It sounds nice to me though, I love the idea of it.

I have to try set a week aside to try it.

IBS is brought about by stress, food and it can enter a cycle of stressing over IBS which causes IBS, specially around social events. "big night tomorrow, hope I dont get diarrhea or a flare up".. then the stress of that thought alone can cause a flare up.

IBD is brought about by the ulsers and the bowel itself regardless of stress or food although they can obviously start a flare up too.

Both can give roughly the same symptoms, and can have roughly the same impact on life

I have control of my IBS, but its not that easy to get control of it.

Tell me about it. It's embarrassing being out in public or at someones house and you gotta worry about what's coming next ><
