Re: Local Elections 2012

Not too sure if I'm voting either.

You hear so many promises, but in the end nothing changes.

Just reading the book thing I got in the post and pretty much all of them promise "More jobs, police and better transport".

They promise that every time but 4 years later stuff hasn't changed, it's got worse.

Boris Johnson says "Making our streets and homes safer with 1,000 more police on the beat." - Didn't he just cut the policing budget? :smileyindifferent:

Ken Livingstone reckons he's going to "Cut the fares by 7%" and "Introduce a London EMA". - I'd love to know where he's going to get the money from to do that.

It's all a massive joke.

Re: Local Elections 2012

They all read from the same book, but I doubt Conservatives will do well cos' they've messed this country up with cutting back on everything; they also haven't given us anything in return.

Labour is just saying stuff that we wanna here, but they were the main problems for mucking this country up by over spending and lending to those who don't need the money.

Lib Dems don't do nothing; if they were elected, nothing would get done and your town would just stay the same.

In my area; the councillors have spent money on fencing and roads and they still haven't improved, the town is in worse decline and it's been like that ever since the fishing went away, which was the main source of income coming in; but they haven't done anything to boost the towns economy by bringing in new ventures and reputation has suffered greatly.

So did I vote? No; as there's no one realistic enough to vote for.

I didn't vote. We're all fudged, no matter who we vote for.

Re: Local Elections 2012

By not voting you're only contributing to the problem. I'd like to know what alternative to democracy those that didn't vote would put forward and what exactly complacency will achieve.
