Moving to Northern Ireland

35 Replies 479 Views Created 28-09-2009

Herro,

After much difficulty finding stable/any work for over a year in the South of England, my esteem has hit an all time low. I have been played around by firms, and so I missed out on fulfilling an apprenticeship in a trade. Agencies won't even find me menial work as there is a backlog of applicants, and no one locally in IT or retail is employing me (most likely as I'm not a Vernon Kay of sorts). I have now considered moving to Northern Ireland for a change in both opportunity and scenery.

I have good friends there and like a couple of towns in particular. But is there any (useful) advice anyone can give me? It's because although I could stay for 2 months in someone's place I would likely have to resort to social housing after that for an indefinite period until I find some work. I'm familiar with the do's and don'ts in public, but not how to actually go about looking for work there. What agencies do you recommend? Where is there more of an influx of jobs? How does the rate of pay compare to the cost of living in different jobs? Can anyone advise?

Quite like Lisburn, Comber/Nards, the main city district of Belfast.

Other end of the country then.

Job Centre NI (http://www.jobcentreonline.com/JCOLFront/Home.aspx) will give you an idea of what is available over here at present.

nope i would be questioning these facts
1. how did someone from NI get to be a hollywood star
2. why would a hollywood star be living in a dump like this
and finally 3. where does she live i feel like becoming her postman
