Pc's/Windows do more and are better supported, I guess it comes down to whether you will use/appreciate the "more" and whether you can use what you save in ££££
You said this last time too. The amount of support that PC's enjoy over Macs is really negligible now for the average computer user. There really are very little things a PC can do that a Mac can't.
Well it's not just a case of can do, it's how well, and how many options you get, like yes Mac's can play games, but how many games? Yes macs can run xxx but how many progs do you get to choose from? etc etc
What's the life cycle of an Apple OS? how long do they support their own software for? last I heard it wasn't great I also heard you have to pay for some updates/service packs? (although I found that hard to believe tbh)
Last thread like this I did some research about leopard server when that came up and found info only decent on the Apple site, do they ban people for talking about it? or is it as i suspect that no one is actually using it? (It did look like a lame duck product tbh)
That’s all very true but like I said the difference is negligible. in terms of software there are a lot of software that are Mac only that I'm not sure you would even know about. but they are there and they are powerful. In terms of Apples support for it's OS, OS X has been going on for the last decade. People are still happily using the original OS X from 8 years ago and it's still supported by Apple.
OS X itself is upgraded every couple of years. And yes they do charge for it when it's a major upgrade. But these upgrades aren't like service packs on a PC. When you upgraded from XP to Vista you payed a charge and then to windows 7 you also payed a charge. it's like that. All minor upgrades to the OS are free.
Don't forget the reason why Windows needs service packs. Users are constantly finding faults and Microsoft are constantly trying to plug holes. I very rarely use my copy of Windows 7 on my Mac, maybe once a month, but each time I do there are always updates that I need to download before I can even start using it.
In terms of the Apples servers and software it may be lame if it doesn't do what you need. But like I said I acknowledge there is a diffrence in support and hardware, but that difference is completely negligible to your average every day computer user. And I'm not talking about just someone who uses it to browse the web or get emails now and again. I'm also talking about working professionals, students, and IT groups
The only differences you can bring up only apply to a niche group of power computer users and most people are just not like that.
Everything that Macs do, because of software available by Apple and third parties, it does it amazingly well.

3 year warranty.
Also, the screen looks beutiful with a 1376x768 rez at 15.4 inches. (same as mac) 15" screens are 1440x900 LED Backlit, far superior to LCD, so it's not the same.
Webcam 1.3MP + microphone (same as mac) The software for Macs iSight camera such as Photobooth, iChat, bonjour etc far out weighs any of the software that comes bundles with the webcam on this PC.
Fast boot up and closetimes(same as mac) Average PC bootup times when new range from about 1-2 minutes from the moment you start it to the moment you can access say your web browser. Obviously the more you use it the longer it takes to boot. Mine takes less than 40secs
Runs cool even when playing games(I dunno if its same as mac
) it's the same.
Can play even the newest games with good FPS (although if you put a demanding 2009 game, its probs gonna be on low) (mac cant do that) Actually it can. And really well too. On my hardware I can run Call of Duty 4 on high setting natively and modern warfare 2 using windows 7 on VMware Fusion on high/medium setttings without any problems.
Youve just got a laptop thats less than half the price of the low end 15 inch macbook pro (1550 euros or smth) and it does the same things and even more! Oh and if any of you say about battery life, there are plenty of 9 cell or 12 cell batteries for toshiba that last a lot of hours, and dont whine about the weight,I bet you can lift an extra kilo for more battery life.

well do you still think these little things that the macbook pro is better at is worth the extra 900 euros?
If then ur either rich or your completely stupid.
Btw were talking about the 15 inch.

I'm neither rich nor completely stupid.
And these aren't the only reasons why I think the Macbook pro is worth the extra money. but they are my reasons and not yours and not everyone sees things in the same way. I'm just correcting where you though your toshiba laptop is the same as a Macbook pro. That’s all.

As its a laptop, i'd say go give one a try in an Apple shop, if you like it, then go for it. Of course, if it was a desktop, i'd say go build your own PC.

look the only users that will find apple computers usefull are musicians and video/photo editors. However, the consumer base is soo huge, and a lot of people buy apple just cuz they look good and the brand is expensive. Which is why im saying that any1 who buys it must be rich or stupid.

That hasn't been true for at least 10 years. There was a time where Apple's hook was the whole music/video production software that they had running on their hardware very well, but not so much anymore, they're still very good at that, but they're not *just* good for that.
