well i bet you would find a windows PC extremely useful for your work too then.

I switched to a Mac a couple of years ago because I wasn’t finding my Windows PC useful. Constantly downloading security updates, waiting for it to load up, having to free up space using ccCleaner all the time, having to defragment just to get my PC to work a little bit faster etc, loads of little things that added up to one big headache. I went to an Apple store after buying an iPhone and fell in love with how much more simpler and more productive a Mac is and so I bought one. In case you were wondering I switched from a Sony Vaio Laptop to a Macbook Pro.

I Still use Windows on my Mac, But only when I want to play a game, which is hardly ever.

Re: New laptop decision..... MAC or PC

Since I got my macbook, i cant stand my desktop (windows 7). Its a lot slower, crashes a lot (which the macbook doesnt) and its just a better experience overall.

It's OK, we're used to you writing complete cobblers here.

There is no point in arguing which system is best. It's about which you prefer using. And having used both, I much prefer the Mac.

Wouldn't it be an option to build your own laptop. (Although building laptops is a pig most times.) Or just buy a laptop without a OS and install a mac OS? Your thoughts?

Re: New laptop decision..... MAC or PC

If I had to get a laptop, I'd get a PC, remove Windoze and put Linux on. But that's me.

In your case, I'd suggest mac TBH, but I've never tried/used one yet :-( keep meaning too, and normally machines I get to fix are normally broken due to windows.. never get given a mac to play/fix :-(

(Though personally, I think there a bit of a rip-off when it comes to hardware & pricing)

That is possibly one of the dumbest most uneducated responses I've ever read.... Have you actually ever used a mac? or much less have you ever actually met any mac users?

The only stupid thing here is your fanboy ingorance.

The best advice to any would be switcher ...Go to an Apple store, use a mac, talk to other mac users in the store as well as the store staff, find out a bit more about what you can and can't do. Then make a decision... but for god sakes don't listen to idiots like this noob!

Re: New laptop decision..... MAC or PC

At the end of the day, I have two other computers that run Windows 7, so maybe having a mac would balance it out. However I am still stuck on the possibility that if mac turned out pants I have spent a lot of money on it.

True, if you don't like it when you get it fair enough, but maybe you could return or something? ask the store if they'll do that, if they do, you could just get your money back and get a windows laptop if you don't like it :smileyhappy:

In greece there is no apple store, but ive seen and used imac 20 inch and macbook pro 17 inch in an electronics store, and I dont get why people think their soo good. The only thing I liked was that the laptop had the logo on the back that shined and amazing feel when you touch it, but otherwise, its money thrown away.
