Re: PC Gaming thread.

Just bought the Orange Box, couldn't not buy it at that price.

As someone who has never played Half-life 1, is it alright to jump into Half life 2?

Re: PC Gaming thread.

Hi folks,

I need some advice please.

My cousin is asking me to spec a PC for me and this is the hardware I have found for him within his budget:

System Specification
- Case: Antec 900 Gaming Case
- Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W
- CPU: Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz
- Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard
- Cooler: Corsair H50 CPU Cooler
- RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
- Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
- Graphics Card: GTX 460 Direct CU TOP 786MB GGR5

- Sound: High Definition 7.1 Onboard Sound Card
- Optical Drive: 22x DVD+RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter

So obviously all that would work with the 600W case. But if he wanted to have an SSD and another GTX 460 for SLI would the Power Unit be able to handle it?

Re: PC Gaming thread.

Re: PC Gaming thread.

Ok, cheers mate! That is enough for me to know... just one non-recommendation because I was really wondering about it :smileyvery-happy:

I suppose there is no real need for the SSD as well, he is getting a 7200 HDD anyway.

Re: PC Gaming thread.

I would say it that for it might not be enough for an SLI system, especially if you then also add an SSD.

For an 460GTX SLI system, all the nividia reccomended power supplies are >650W
