I wouldn't take my word for it as I don't know much and someone else might have a better idea but it would be my first thought though.
What I would do if you can't find another answer is take it to a shop and get them to put a battery in to see if that works rather than just going out and buying a new one only to find that's not the problem.
Just read your edit, sorry.

Greets peeps.
My younger brother gave me a PC to try get into shape for my youngest brother. He bought a prebuilt from PC world when I was on holiday with my fiancee in 2010... Silly him.
Anyway, specs are i7 860, 8gb ram, unsure about the mobo, 1.5tb Western Digital HDD, Bluray drive, 475W PSU and... A GT230. The GT230 had been overheating for a while. I took it out, cleared out 18 months of dust, but the fan on the GT230 is very loud (I think the dust had been partially blocking the fan for a while, and ruining the motor... I could be wrong)
My youngest brother won't do anything demanding, as he loves his 360 for gaming. I'm looking for a replacement GPU that has a similar power requirement, can handle light-medium gaming (Minecraft is probably the game to aim for) and costs under £100. It HAS to be small, because the GT230 is already cramped anyway.
Thanks much guys. Will upload pics if needed!

The low end ATI cards, they're brilliant I think they're like 120, the ones lower than 100 I'd not recommend because of its lower power.
But anyway, I've discovered a problem with my Dell Alienware, two actually, the first one is that, it seems one of my Hard Drive ports does not push out the correct speeds, There is bay 1 and two, and thenn three and four, Three and four have an direct airflow, yet 1 and 2 don't, so I think something got hot and damaged the port, the hard drives now run at there full 7200 RPM. The next issue, is that one of the graphic powercords was faulty, after replacing it my computer started to kick back side, I only came to notice I had some problems because my youtube videos had so much lag ![]()
Never again will I ever buy a computer all ready made, I know how to build, but I was lazy and I wanted that all powerful machine that Dell claims they make, I think the only thing that made me get my Dell ALienware was the fact that I had received a three year warranty at no cost because my brother is a registered technician.
