Re: PC Support Available Here

thing is that i can see this turning stupid, if you have a problem we need as much info as possible about the problem, make sure you know the components that make your computer as its not much use otherwise.

Mojo: is that any video file?? what program are you trying to open it with ?

Mojo: is that any video file?? what program are you trying to open it with ? I don't even get that far. I open the folder and I get the pop-up immediately! I can actually play the files on random media players if I ignore the pop-up but its just annoying now.

Try scanning your computer for spyware first (Adware SE is good & free) and try running some anti-virus and see if they bring anything up, if not it's probably a conflict between programs

Re: PC Support Available Here

no wait i got a real one this time... we have this old windows xp computer that likes to crash allot. Say for instance i opened my programs and go crazy with my mouse (no clicking) it would freeze. I have searced thoughly for adware, spyware and viruses and nothing. Even having a system restore does nothing. When we install the OS (again) it still makes no difference. You cant get anything done at all.

Re: PC Support Available Here

Yeah I always like to leave that as a last resort because I am too lazy to backup all my files and re-install programs etc. but perhaps you're right. It proves to be a simple and straightforward answer. Although I don't have xpress recovery I'll give it a whirl. Ta

Re: PC Support Available Here

Would there be a reason for my PC sometimes switching of at random points in time?

I'll just be sat at the PC, surfing the Internet, and it restarts. The only idea I have is that it could be my ZoneAlarm resetting after updates, but it does get rather annoying.

if it doesnt ask you to turn off anything then try this:

you need to turn off automatic restart on error and then you shud get a BSOD (blue screen off death) which then will give you an error message (take note of the message)

1.Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

2.Click the Advanced tab.

3.Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box.

4.Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times.

5.Restart your computer for the settings to take effect.

and then i shud be able to help you further.
