It's called a POST JUMP. I believe it is something to do with individual users time profiles, and location etc... It happens on a few other boards of this type, and it can get annoying.

It's definately the silver one, the PSone controller looks almost white and the cord is a light grey. Silver controller is a dark grey, like in the picture.
