Reload the program.

Turn it off and on again

Is it definitely switched on?

Rightclick the program, shortcut tab and then change icon.

To shane:

The file C:\Program Files (x86)\app folder\appname.exe contains no icons.

Chose an icon from the list or specifiy a different  file.

That would be your problem then, no icons.
