yes they do check your medical records but as long as you've been cleared by doctors you should be find :smileywink: back in 2003 i did all my RAF exams to enter as an NCO and did my medical to, was going into do 'Load Master' :Thumbs: was waiting to start training but i shattered my right knee cartilage at my job (which was just a fill in between my old job and starting basic training :Mad: !!)

Im in the ATC joined 12 months back, been flying once, and going again soon. :smileyvery-happy:

Good luck with getting RAF pilot, I wanted to be that then decided to try for commercial, and if that fails...

Some sort of IT job.. GCSEs next year so choosing options now...

You require A-Levels to become an RAF pilot, one of my school friends ended up having to stay on to do A-Levels and im sure you will have to too. The same generally applies for becoming a commercial pilot aswell.

Hi Im presently studing my last year off school before i move on to my higher exams i am planing on becoming a RAF fighter pilot hopefully getting though uni with the RAF. I did my work experance with them and they said to me that they wont check back far on my medical records because i had Asthma 10 Years ago and have been clear ever since. im now 15 coming 16 and could any one help me if they would allow me to become a fighter pilot because i have been wanting to do this since a young age. i am joing the ATC and i had my first lesson flying a plane (= thanks Liam Firstly find out what a Crab fat is :smileyvery-happy:

Mate of mine got into the RAF, passed his medicals and got accepted etc, went aways to start his training. He dropped out after a few months because his girlfriend made him choose between her or the RAF cause she was lonely.

What a nutter, I would have binned her on the spot! Was gutted for him cause he was super excited when he got accepted and quit his job :smileysad:

The way I hear it, asthma 10 years ago is the least of your problems pal, they can choose from the absolute cream of the crop, you got some real tough times ahead if you want to get in - good luck!
