I suppose the title says it all but im thinking about getting a macbook or a new dell laptop. I am probably going to spend around £850 and I will be taking it to university. I was just wondering if its worth getting the macbook or a laptop with superior specs and if I get a macbook will the lack of a decent graphics card be a problem for watching high definition videos? I have a macbook (bought it very recently), and i was thinking the same things as you are thinking. And yes, i think you should get a macbook, one of the best things i ever did And i havnt had any problems with HD footage. Hope it helps

If you can Afford it then it doesn't matter, if your scared of moving to a new OS then that doesn't matter, As the fastest Windows bench marked lap top PC was with A MAC book pro. if you want windows only but still want syle with a price tag. go with Alienware. But if your feed up with windows then Get A MAC book. and install the three top OS Linux, OSX10.5 and Windows XP( but you will stop using it.) BUT not till FEB............BIG MAC EXPO in JAN. New model wiil reduce the price on the rest.

I have a mac, but macbooks are similar, so I would say yes. But it depends, if you are going to do stuff like animations, web design, photoshop, surfing the net etc, then yes go with a mac. If youre not going to go on the internet much, play lots of computer games and do more office type computer work like publisher or word, then get a pc.

Right sorry for the long time its taken me to reply. I want a macbook because I want a change from a windows OS and like the sound of how easier and quicker it is to do simple tasks like video and photo editing. I also am not a fan of windows vista as I think its a bit slow and not overly impressive. Basically I want a laptop for lectures and general work based things, id also like to use basic video editing and the internet as the ability to play games arn't essential as I will just take a console instead.
