Should the HDMI port be under device manager.......

8 Replies 2515 Views Created 23-08-2012

Just got a new laptop but cannot connect my laptop to my tv via HDMI

Now I am thinking my hdmi port is not working properly.

First question, should the HDMI port be under Device manager?

No, it should be on the side or back of the laptop.

You will really need to give out more information than that.

Have you used the HDMI in, on the TV with another device? In case it's faulty, or disabled.

I used the same HDMI cable to connect the PS3 to the TV and it works.

It's possible it could be down to your laptops screen size differing massively from the tv your connecting to.

Does your tv have a dedicated pc channel ?

Sometimes you may need to tweak graphic settings to get it to work when connecting a laptop to a TV however if it still fails, you may be better off with a VGA plug or any other computer orientated video output, as they always seem to work.
You can't save time only spend it.

Set laptop resolution to 720p and 50Hz. Also... what make is your laptop and does it have a TV shortcut on the keyboard?

Usually they would have a special function button which is used in conjunction with another button to move the image on to an external screen like a TV or monitor. Get back in touch Ricz, I'll try and get you through this. Together, forever.
