Do they exist? Apart from the foreign films I mean.

I'm slightly hard of hearing, and I've been looking for this feature for a while now. Starting to doubt subtitles even exists on any of the movies, which doesn't exactly make me like LOVEFiLM anymore.

If not, don't worry, I'll just have to make do

I've done a Google/forum search and everything.

As far as I know its not supported because distribution rights for the film dont include subtitles, lovefilm will have to pay for them, probably not a lot but its money they dont want to spend I guess.

Balls to them I may have to cancel my streaming subscription then and stick with Netflix. Cheers though dude.

Hook up a set of wireless headphones to your TV and you can turn them up as loud as you like, easier than reading subtitles.

Yeah, as far as I know anyway, the rights for subtitles can be scattered across many different companies, many paying for them out of their own pocket for dvd/bluray, so when someone like lovefilm or anyone else streams the subtites without them getting their money from the dvd sale... well they get unhappy.

Lovefilm can make their own if they want, they are free to do so, or try negotiate some sort of deal, but if they just rip the subtitles and stream them, then I think they are breaking the law.

I guess sooner or later the issue will be resolved.

It's there usually for a very valid reason (hard of hearing) that's just scummy to charge money for it.

My TV doesn't have a headphone jack I dunno why, it's a recent TV, only bought it last year October-ish. It's a Samsung 32".
Netflix has subtitles on some of their stuff yeah.
