Swedish Alzheimer’s vaccine trial successful

The vaccine doesn't stop Alzheimers disease but it can help reduce some of the catastrophic effects of it. We are still a long way from finding a genuine cure but the fact we can slow down the deterioration of the brain cells is fantastic news.

There will have to be one more larger trial but if that is a success, this may become one of the main ways to combat Alzheimers. It may take decades to find a cure but this is a huge leap forward.

Looking good, hopefully this vaccine does not have any harmful side effects rendering it a failure. Also would be interesting to see how this is implemented into society.

False alarm, they forgot where they put the research.

Re: Swedish Alzheimer’s vaccine trial successful

This is a phase I trial. The word "success" is incredibly misleading - they basically showed people made antibodies to A beta and the vaccine didn't overtly kill people (Phase I is safety).
