Had a letter through earlier saying I'm eligible for it because I have asthma.

But I don't know whether to have it because doesn't it have something in it which can affect you in another way? Or am I just being paranoid?

swine flu is mostly hype.

here's a chart showing what diseases people died from in a 300 day period.

every death is a tragedy and if you're feeling sick you should get checked out but i really wouldn't worry about Swine Flu too much.

I got mine a few weeks back. Apart from the usual sore arm afterwards I haven't experienced any other side-effects.

If you've been offered it then you're probably best to get it.

Problem with vaccines is the fact, it can actually cause you to get it, where as you may not have had it before

When I first heard about swine flu people made it out to be the worst thing that could ever happen to you.

When I got swine flu.. I was in bed for 3 days and sick twice. Was the most tragic thing ever!

Stupid media making a big deal out of it.

Whereas I had normal flu and was in bed for 3 weeks and had about 10 meals throughout the whole 3 weeks.

There is a lot of hype over swine flu, just like there was with bird flu and SARS.

No, no, no! Myth.

Any Flu inoculation, while containing the virus, has been irradiated and the virulent nature of the illness has been killed off. However, as the injection still contains the virus cells (now dead) your immune system can analyse and build an immunity to them.

Simples.

One in every million people given the swine flu vaccine will get Guillain-Barré Syndrome, which will start as a cough and end up with you being paralysed, if they dont catch it within 2 weeks of the first motor function system symptoms, then the paralysis is permenent.

If they do catch it in time, you will be in hospital for a while, in intensive care, and then have to learn how to brush your teeth, write, or walk, watever functions you lost will have to be relearned.

One in a million, it could happen.

I mean, why do they need to use it?
