That 3D sound effect thing...

Been searching for it and can't find it.

I think I first found it on this forum and it's the thing where you have to have earphones and it feels like the sound is moving around you, think the music playing was from Up too?

Anyone know what it is?

Please use plain text.

You mean stereo?

It is meant to work as 3D when you listen to it. But you'll hear it via a normal set of Stereo headphones.

I have a CD with some samples on :smileyhappy:

Re: That 3D sound effect thing...

Holophonic Audio it's called, the best ones are recorded with a dense dummy head w/ microphones in the ears.

The best one is the Virtual Barbershop posted above, it uses the Cetera Algorithm (which was originally created for hearing aids) to give a more natural "3D" sound.

Keywords are "holophonic", "binaural" and "cetera". :smileyhappy:
