Yes it is Disease. I apologies for my terrible error. Luckily all you 'well educated' folks knew what I meant.
Some really good ideas for both sides of the argument. The hole in the ozone layer is a result in pollution apparently and will obviously effect climate. Do you think all those power stations, cars and the rest of it won't effect the delicate balance of elements we live in?

Considering the amount of heat the pollution traps in from the sun, ofcourse it does.We are now outputting more carbon than the earth can take in, although this is as much to do with deforrestation as it is to our technology giving off pollution.

Message Edited by Spotter5 on 17-11-2009 06:29 PMSpotter... a small organism not much bigger than an ameoba changed the atmosphere from sulphuric acid to air, Humans are capable of changing the atmosphere thus changing climate.
Humans are not the first to do it, and that is scientific fact. Before these small little critters came along, Earth was boiling, they changed everything and Earth cooled down. That is scientific fact, so to say we can't do it is niaive to say the least.
That was because there was no cycle. ie, when plants evolved they, by the process of photosynthesis, created oxygen, which is a poison (funny because we need it to live, yet it is oxgen which will eventually kill us, hence why we are told to eat anti oxydents which get rid of excess oxygen in the blood. But I digress.)Nothing was there to mop up the extra oxygen and so it built up. Nowadays, animals breathe oxygen, expel Carbon dioxide, which the plants absorb expelling oxygen, ad inferium.
Anyway, everyone blames C02 for 'climate change' Stating CO2 rises temprature, when actually, temperature rises the Co2 levels. It's the cutting down of the rainforests that is worse then these factories 'pumping out' pollutants... You when they show factories 'pumping out' pollutants? you know what that is? it is nothing but steam. If we manged the rainforests correctly we would be ok.
But to tax cars, and stop 'evil' plastic bags and so foth is nonsense, then all thise big brands going all 'green' in an effort just to make more money is just stupid. basically 'going green' is just a huge tax income and marketing scam. Goverments and brands want more money, end of. As mention before the whole 'global warming' thing came from good ol' Margart 'I ruined Britain' Thatcher. So the UK could build more nuclear pwer stations and not rely on oil. As was mentioned on by someoneelse here.

Wrong, these organism caused the first mass extinction on planet earth. The organism's of the time evolved to breath the sulphuric atmosphere, albiet aborbed underwater, and then these guys showed up and killed them all off.
There were things to cycle it, but they could not keep up with the new boys. Sounds alot like our situation right now.
Additionally, regarding your second paragraph, you are simply referring to the runaway effect. And it can guarantee it is not just steam the factories pump out.. if you believe that, my part of this debate with you is over because you are not even using the arguements that scientists on your side of the debate believe.

oooh sorry if I double post on this one but I have to comment on the hole in the ozone thing.
Did scientists measure the atmosphere from the very beginning of the Earth? No, they did not, How do we know that a hole is a natural part of the Earth's atmosphere? As far as i'm aware the hole is still there yet we stopped using 'harmful' CFC's ages ago.
Also, since we have only being measuring well, everything. How can we predict 'climate change'? A few hundred years ago people thought the Earth was flat, and that we were centre of the universe...

Yes they did... the hole is getting bigger because not only CFC's caused it lol.
Regarding your prediction, how can we predict the end of an ice age since we have not seen it yet in recorded history? I can also use the flat and center of the universe quote.
