Re: The Nintendo 3DS Thread!

[ Edited ]

i caved and pre-ordered last night, black 3ds with pilot wings.

I think Ninty have really started to realise that the ds could be really something bigger than what it is. And have really incorporated 'western' gaming philosphy into it.  It has a great great catlouge of games, and i think they really tried to improve the functionality of the machine, especially its online side of things.  Various stores, Easier online play etc, it going to be a decent little machine to have alongside a ps3 etc.

Its different enough to warrant itself as a machine you could do with having.  I think this is part of the psp problem, its almost too like its console counterpart.  Saying that i think alot of people be swayed by its total intergration with the ps3.

Re: The Nintendo 3DS Thread!

Those Mario 3DS screenshots look similar to Mario 64, I hope it is not just a 3D remake but a proper new Mario game.

Re: The Nintendo 3DS Thread!

Well Nintendo already confirmed in announcement it's a brand new Mario title by the Galaxy team so it's not a remake thankfully :smileyhappy:

IGN did a nice insight into the screens release and pointed out things i didn't even notice lol like the blocks from Mario 3

Re: The Nintendo 3DS Thread!

I was at the metro center on Friday night where they had the Nintendo 3DS stand, I played resident evil and it was awesome. I loved the 3D with no glasses, although after 5 minutes of gameplay I got an immense headache.

Great technology from Nintendo and no doubt a winner, however I am missing this one out as I think I was going to be sick from the 3D effect.

Re: The Nintendo 3DS Thread!

I've spoken to quite a few people who've played or seen the 3DS in action. Probably around 10-15, and every single one of them said they couldn't keep playing after 15 minutes because they had a massive migraine.

There's no doubt that it's cool, but it seems too many people are getting headaches from it.

Re: The Nintendo 3DS Thread!

is that down to the 3D setting set at max ?, i think the max setting could probably cause quite a bit of a headache.

quite a few threads i have read, say that halfway mark is the most comfortable option. i should imagine to some regard, that you will to play in small parts, and then increase the amount of time of exposure to get used to it over long plays.

Re: The Nintendo 3DS Thread!

For me i had to change to the 3D slider per game to experience it rather than changing it to how much 3D i wanted.  Pilotwings Resort looked best for me at 10 and anything below 7 looked more fuzzy but Super Monkey Ball at 10 for me looked fuzzy at 10 and i had to set it at around 4-7. I'm unsure on how others felt when changing the slider to each number low to high but for me it felt more of a calibiration for my eyes to adjust rather than an option of how much 3D i want to see.

I'm really surprised at how many are experiencing intense headaches or migraines. I usually get tons of migraines for diff reasons but the 3DS didn't trigger anything after extensive play. Hope when i get it that dosen't change lol cause i flipping loved it, altho don't expect it to change as 3D TV's don't affect me either.
