How does fresh tuna taste?
I've never had it, only the tinned stuff which I quite like mixed in with mayo.
I once had tinned tuna in a pasta bake but I thought it was a bit crap so I will only ever eat tinned tuna cold from now on.
I'm not really much of a fish fan, I like battered fish, tinned tuna, smoked salmon and them salmon moose things you can buy in different forms.
I've often watched chefs on TV cooking fresh tuna steaks and wondered how they taste but never bothered buying them just in case I don't like them and wasted my cash. Fresh tuna must taste different from the tinned tuna because they cook them fresh ones rare like a nice beef steak fillet. I can eat beef steak still bloody and juicy, just a quick warm up on the outside and that's good for me.

Common Misnomer.
The red from steaks is not blood, its just juice from the meat which is red. You're supposed to eat it pink/red, you sear the steak to trap the juices and to kill any bacteria on the outside. My mum and sis cant eat steaks medium rare because they think its blood I laugh at them all the time.
That way you don't have to cook it yourself at home and then if you don't like it, you haven't spent all that money on a huge bit of fish.

That's always been my problem when buying fish, it always smells and I know it's not fresh.
It can't be that much to ask for on an island the size of ours, it's not like we live hundreds of miles from the coast and the fish has to travel far, I supose tuna has to travel quite far though as we can't just pop out and fish for it at Filey.
