pinpin, in the book, you can go back to 1958, stay until the 60s, jump back to the present and go back in time again and itll be 1958 again? wouldnt that then reset anything you did?

Yup that's exactly what happens. Each time you go back, it's the first time so your previous visits cease to exist.
