Where am I?

[ Edited ]

That's the question kids are asking more frequently it seems according to social workers of Wings south West. After it was revealed that more kids are found 'stoned'; due to losing sleep after playing video games when they're tired. The charity said the kids are on the verge of losing empathy and compassion of genuine relationships.

Full Story here

Do you think the parents should have more control over how long their kids spend on a console via some sort of time function, that stops kids accessing the PS3 after a certain time?

Parents already have control over this, should they wish to take the radical step of exercising it.

The absence of a system function for this is not the problem.

How on earth did this ever get classified as a news story in the first place?

BINGO

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

Re: Where am I?

Or parents could stop putting TVs and game consoles in there childs rooms, and make their kids go to bed.
You can't save time only spend it.

It's already enforced in my house for all devices. PS3 / XBox and Laptops. It's all about being a parent.

I came across this story' cos' I wanted some new PS3 info; but this'll do for now. Anyway I think the PS3 has enough restrictions as it is, without adding this stupid time function on it. As long as kids are being brought up respectively, they wouldn't feel the need to be gaming all the time. But as you grow up anyway I'm positive they'll grow out of it and play on their console less. So I'm not worried about this pandemic :smileyvery-happy:

EDIT: How do you select the time to switch off the PS3 console? I can do it with my PC, but I can't seem to do it on the PS3.

Re: Where am I?

When I was a kid the parental controls on my gaming were "no" and that was it. I wasn't allowed a tv in my room so could only play in the living room.

Re: Where am I?

When I was little I was deprived of having any technology in my room also. Just made more pro-active; it also gave me the ability to be more human than a closet-buddy where I would go outside and see people; just general exploring. Now most things are done without leaving the home. :smileysad:
