The first job I ever got aged 15 just out of school was the worst out of any I had, it was in a shoe factory working for a pair of asian brothers called the Bansals. They were really nice guys but one would give you a job like roughing the lumps of glue off the sole, then his brother would come out and move you to the machine where they mould the uppers, soon his brother who put you on the rougher would come out and tell you off for not doing the job he gave you and move you back, followed by his brother who would tell you off and move you back to the moulder etc.

Add to that the fact that there was absolutely no health and safety in place; we were using liquid glue to stick bows on ladies shoes, this glue burnt into the upper like acid and sent smoke up. Then there was the alchohol we used to wipe the moulder which i once spilled on my jeans in the manhood area (and believe me it burns like a whole can of muscle rub) also when you used the rougher there were hot lumps of glue flying off (usually towards your face) we had no overalls gloves goggles or masks and even in the hot days in May and June no one bothered to even open a window and ventilate the room.

The fumes of the alcohol rub and the glue were equal to sitting in a small cupbard with a couple of bottles of nail varnish remover, I was glad to leave and on turning 16 in the july was old enough to get a place on a Y.T.S just up the road.

Line breaks would be handy even the PS3 browser can do these nowadays.

Just saying i really do need to go to specs savers to read that sorry.

More manageable? :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Worst jobs you have done?

I know what you mean about factory work.

I once had a job putting handles on cars. It was pretty boring, but I suppose it opened a few doors.

Re: Worst jobs you have done?

I have had a few bad jobs in my time.

The worst being a kitchen porter at heathrow airport pilots restaurant as the it is open 20 hrs a day you end up in a kitchen with food all over the floor.

If your on the late shift then people from the early shift leave all the burnt pots & pans & dirty serving tins piled from the floor to the ceiling for cleaning.

The dullest jobs i've had one was the polystyrene trays the chickens come on from supermarkets my job was to glue a little sponge on the bottom of the tray.

I have also worked in a factory that made socks & another that made toilet seats.

I think preparing food for pilots would be a cool job, just imagine what would happen if you put laxatives in their meals, or even better sleeping pills?

Re: Worst jobs you have done?

I also had another job at heathrow airport making the sandwiches for the shops but that job only lasted a day as i was to ashamed to go back.

The problem was i was pushing a big metal trolley out to the bins & on my way back i didn't realise a £2,000 glass plate door was closed & pushed the trolley into the door smashing it.

When asked what the massive crashing noise was i lied my a**e off & said the trolley had rolled into the door while my back was turned while putting rubbish in the bins.

How can that be a worst job as in cadbury factories you can eat all you want while you work.

Re: Worst jobs you have done?

I found being a Fudge packer quite boring and I don't even like Cabury Fudge bars.
