Indeed, the Mrs wanted the True Blood Series 4 DVD so I got the Band of Brothers Blu-Ray set for $21.

If you haven't seen any Game of Thrones yet you're in for a treat. Can't wait for Season 3! :D

Very nice pick up YonNZL86, I didn't know Cosmos was on bluray, that would be really wonderful. Has Dexter actually come on bluray yet for us? I haven't bought any yet because I'm really annoyed that it's available on bluray in the US, every season. It's region locked too.

Game of Thrones is just spectacular too. I really love the lore database features on the bluray too. Especially due to me not actually reading the books. Gives a lot of the extra information that's outside the scope of the episodes and adds even more dimension to when you rewatch.

Is there a great improvemnt in the quality, Smoke? Marilyn movies tend to be a bit scratchy, small screen and mono on all my Marilyn DVDs.

So it seems i got burned on this. Turns out it was just a rip of Cosmos, which he had burned to DVD-R, and mocked up the Disk label to say blu ray. and put the disks into blu ray case.

I only buy Blurays now.

Bought the Hunger Games

Battleship - meh

Jaws remastered - A must get, they have really done an amazing job of remastering this film, lots of detail that I have never noticed before, and I must of seen this movie at least 50 times as it's one of my top 5.

I can't speak for all the films yet but going off the1st 2 I would say yes. Gentlemen prefer Blondes Looked absolutely fantastic, great colour and a wonderful image. How to Marry a Millionare didn't look quite as good, obviously limited by a not quite as good master or whatever they were working with, colours a bit more dull and some sequences especially desaturated but overall still leaps and bounds over SD dvd transfers I've seen in terms of stability of the image that I've watched. How to Marry a Millionare has obviously been a problem in terms of getting a good transfer out of it at all through the years. This is probably the best we're going to get. Predicting it to be the weakest one out of the 7 films in terms of transfer.

So yeah, going off the first 2 I would say they have absolutely never been presented this well in terms of transfer and sound.

Well most of them I can live with in their original condition. I love the handpainted look of some of those old classic films. It's the cheap renditions on DVD I have trouble with. Some of them look like they were remastered in Lego, they're so highly compressed and pixilated.

Haha yeah they' did a great job at harnessing the original films, nothing like those kinds of dvds which for me are unwatchable. Might as well watch a VHS.
