Re: Your thoughts on the Patrick Steward/James Cordon row?

People forget patrick is a touch under 70 years old, when an old person asks you to stand up straight, tuck your shirt in, and have some respect, you should just grin and do it.

You dont take an aggressive stance, and insult them and then do the opposite pull your shirt up over your head or something.

Joking aside, how cordon and the others acted towards patrick was really ridiculous.

Spot on.

I like to believe the girl was actually trying to be nice to Patrick Stewart by saying she'd love to see him die on stage anyday as a credit to his acting and general greatness. It just seems a shame it came out bad, if she was putting him down she wouldn't have shown respect by calling him Sir Patrick Stewart.

That kid needs to learn some manners though, getting aggressive when being dressed down by someone he should be showing some form of respect to is a no-no. I actually hope it does his career no favours but going by these other videos people have posted he seems to just keep doing it. Oh well, one day he'll do it to the wrong person and get slapped down large.

It looks set-up to me, the type of thing Patrick Stuart might be up for as well (he did Extras).

I think Corden should stand up straight when presenting an award as it is a sign of respect, but I don't get why Pat started with weight jokes? I mean he's 69 he should show respect himself he wants it back. Corden didn't need to take such an aggressive stance either. But to be fair PS just wasn't funny. Neither was Corden. It was cheap.

I agree. I can't stand Corden but after seeing  the video, it looks like the attack did seem a little unprovoked by Patrick Stuart.

But the way Corden handled himself was horrible. He should have smiled and laughed it off whilst Stuart was on-stage, thought of a quip (admittedly difficult for someone whose comedy content relies heavily on their weight - excuse the pun), and once Stuart and the Award Winner left the stage together say it to the audience before beginning the introduction of the next guest.

Surely he should be used to dealing with hecklers in his line of work? For a "comedian" he didn't look very slick at all. If anything, his intimidating glare just made him look like a thug.

For anybody with half a brain you can tell that the entire thing was set up for the audience to have a bit of a laugh. You can clearly see them chatting and smiling in the background/

That was just Patrick Stewart telling Corden to stop humiliating him on Stage or he will set his Phaser to KILL!!

Cordon's comedy is mainly based on him being a fat *****.
