May be a stupid question to some may not be to others, but since now the new 1.4 hdmi ports support ethernet is it possible the ps3 can share its internet from wifi or ethernet to a hdtv with a hdmi port or vise verser or other devices? but it would also depend on sony to allow this bridging when they made the ps3 i assume. i know some will say thats what wifi is for you wont need as many cables but depends on your games/movies wifi isnt that great as what ethernet is plus you could go from your modem wired to your ps3 then hdmi from ps3 to tv to home theatre systems and not need a cable to each system from your modem

I wouldn't think that it can, since you won't find a PlayStation 3 model with a HDMI chipset that is 1.4

The latest slim model has a 1.3c from what I could find in specs. etc. 

So, if the HDMI Ethernet is restricted to HDMI 1.4 chipsets, then no.
