cutting and pasting files

hello, i have a problem and whichever one of you lovely people can fix it will get a sticker

i'm currently cutting and pasting 200gb of PS3 BACKUP data from one external to another over my laptop, however my laptop goes into auto standby after 30 minutes, which would cancel the transfer...

so,if i cancel the transfer, will the files that have already been cut and pasted go back to their normal place, or will it be broken?

if this is the case, can anyone think of an ingenious way to keep my laptop from going all standby at me?

Re: cutting and pasting files

if your just doing a drag and drop from folder to folder then it'll leave whats been copied as copied, it won't delete the data thats already transfered, it will only delete a file if if was part way thru it.
Just turn off the power saving mode on lappy an copy the files
