When I open chrome my homepage keeps being changed to this stupid search thing called findamo.

I change my homepage back and it is fine until I restart the computer and then that is back!

I have searched on the internet and everyone just says how to change your homepage, which I know how to do but it's not permanent with this thing!

Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

what software have you installed recently?

Chrome > Tools > View Background Pages. See if there's an extension overriding your default setting. Also, as above, any new freeware installed? Some come bundled with 'Home Page changers'.

I downloaded the plugin to play games on this site http://www.vizzed.com/playonlinegames/index.php

Maybe thats when it got in but I'm sure I made sure to refuse the toolbar rubbish that type of thing offers.
I cant find it on my computer to delete it.

I don't know what that general crawler thing is, maybe it's that?

I like chrome and don't want to switch to firefox, from what I've seen searching on the internet it wouldn't make a difference anyway. 

My own fault for downloading a plugin thing without checking it was ok elsewhere (assuming that was when it got in)

I have done a system restore, tried c cleaner and it's still there. I'm doing a full avast scan which is going to take hours (1% through after 40 minutes) and I will take it to my friend who knows about computers to see if it's embedded itself in registry files and get rid.

I am on my rubbish old netbook with no battery life but it will do for now. I was told not to use chrome anymore because it is full of holes

actually i think chrome is the most secure web browser. Well this year was the first time it was hacked at pwn2own. did you do a system restore to before you installed said plugin?
