No, that's your job. It's not like you have anything better to do. They will let you look on their system and suggest things for you, but it is your responsibility to organise applications etc. So I would brush up on your writing skills...

Actually their job is to muck up your claim, so you have to go down there more times than you have too. lol and when you do find work, they'll over pay you a fornight's money; so you have to pay them back with your wages, even when you let them know a month in advance that you've got work.
I haven't met anyone who hasn't been penalised whilst being on the dole yet.

LA I can understand your frustration but I think it's a little juvenile to assume people are paid to bully you. Even if you got overpaid and paid back you have effectively not lost any money you just have to be more sensible in the first period of payment. Is it the government's fault if you are irresponsible with money you are given when you are overpaid?

I was gonna say, I wouldn't have spent the money because I knew they would have made a mistake.
The first thing I would have done is ring them up or go down the job centre and ask if they made a mistake, and then because it was, just pay it straight back.
