Unity

There's a story on joystiq.com that states Square Enix is using Unity for a Vita title. So...will  I be able to use Unity as well?

Re: Unity

Talk to Unity. That's getting into native code, and PSS is a managed API, so it's probably not going to be within the scope of the PSS program. I'm guessing that whatever publishing path you can get from Unity to Vita is going to require the same credentials as the existing options to publish to PS3, so in other words, you're looking at developer licensing.

Re: Unity

Again, this is more a question for Unity and not PSS. So far Unity hasn't announced support for Vita (and I do hope I am wrong)

Re: Unity

Ok. I voted. Hopefully Unity will make it available since the game I'm planning to port was made in Unity.

I do hope so too or hope that the PSS Team could make a tool that can convert .apk files created with Unity over to PSS Format it would be simple I would think..

Re: Unity

I've talked to the Unity team PS Vita will be available for Unity 3.5 but you have to be a 1st party license holder such as our game studio's...

so around $15,000 for your 1st Party License and if you already own Unity Pro they will send you the update when they are ready which is going to be end of February I believe.

This is good news for my studio I'm not sure how useful this will be for you...!!

scripting and stuff is done in C# in Unity. the actual core Unity engine itself is not, nor is the source available (as far as I'm aware), it is written in C/C++. the UI tools in Unity are done in C#
