I recently had to reinstall GT5 onto a PS3 from scratch. It took 24 hrs to download the 11 patches. SERIOUSLY, *****!!! Someone needs to be shot. Whoever made it so slow has no concept of how important it is in business to deliver a positive customer experience. Apple understands how important the totaly package is, and it's why Apple has raving fans world wide and sony has a handfull in comparison. This will cost Sony / PD millions of future $$$ if this is allowed to continue. /rant

Nope, could Facebook, youtube, and general surf the web just fine. Did an internet speed test and was able to get 620kb per second.

Best I could find anyway, probably fairly correct.

1.05 :   608MB

1.06 :   300MB

1.07 :     47MB

1.08 :    1.7MB

1.09 :     49MB

1.10 :   380MB

1.11 :     62MB

1.12 :     13MB

1.13 :    1.1MB

2.00 : 1192MB

2.01 :   112MB

Total = 2.77GB

Possible addition of PS3 firmware upgrades as well.

Not really trying to suggest anything, simply putting the info. out there.

Facebook and Youtube would slow down your downloads by using up bandwidth.

Also, consider the time you did the download. If it was a peak time, speeds will be slower.

Are you wired or wireless??

It was all wired. Nothing was passively downloading in the background. If anyone doesn't beleive me and doesn't play the PS3 that often, delete your GT5 patches and install, then try downloading it again and provide us your findings. PS. You must install GT5 off the game disc before downloading patches. I found out the hard way after waiting a few hours for the first 677mb patch to download.

what does the speedtest on your ps3 say (the one that appears when you configure the network)? what kind of internet do you run? what results does your computer get on speedtest.net?

It could be a number of factors, server load, peak time, isp, sony, modem etc. I tried the BF3 patch, the first time I tried it said 3 hours for 700mb. I tried again the next night, same again, I tried the following morning and it took 30minutes. There are so many different factors at play, it just sounds like you got really unlucky. I have never had a long download time for any of the GT5 patches, although some other games have certainly been much longer than what would be expected.

Just doing the same mate and one update patch that is still downloading is 7000mb (7g)?????????????????????

this is after downloading a 680mb, 1500mb, 3000mb update????????

this as wiped out one months download and I have not even played the game yet.

 should this happen to a disk based game this is not a downloaded game.

A 7g update is bigger than the old ps2 game.

It is tough.

I dont know if it will be released here, but Japan and North America now have a version called XL or something like that, with 2.0 on the disk..... possible DLC pack 1 also. Cant remember.
