Hey GT Fans,

We recently held a poll to discover the percentage of community members who use specific contoller input methods.

The results, in order of significance, are;

• R2 to accelerate, L2 to decelerate (46%)
• X to go faster, SQAURE to go slower (23%)
• I never user a DUALSHOCK in Gran Turismo games (16%)
• Right analogue stick; push up to go increase speed, pull back to decrease (14%)

So! R2 and L2 are the buttons of choice. I'm shocked to find that actually, the majority of players appear to use a controller over a steering wheel!

What do you think of the results?

Except that wheels are expensive to buy. I am surprised by R2 and L2 in so much use though. I tried that and just got hand cramp so went back to old X and Square.

I use the left stick to accelerate & right stick to brake. Up on the left & down on the right. Steering is done with the right stick also. Gearing is the R2 L2 buttons.

It works for me anyway since GT3.

Im not shocked. Trigger button make the best accelerate and brake buttons

Personally didnt like L2/R2, its more presice, but less comfort and in my opinion its easier to steer with X / Square...

But i play my GT with wheel and pedals, easily the best option. I just couldnt get liscence test to gold with controler, but managed that on wheel

Were those the only options given? Clearly, "Pedals to accelerate and decelerate" is missing. 

I couldn't honestly answer that I never use a DS in GT games, because that happens from time to time, when I can't stand the hassle of rigging the proper steering wheel.

For real? That sounds tricky to me. I've been using L2/R2 ever since the PS3 launched.

Note that this poll quizzed the community ONLY about their use of a controller. Not the use of a steering wheel.

I have the DFGT. I'm so torn whether to get GT5 or not. The game is a beast of a racing game but it got dull after a while when I couldn't win the S ranks in prologue.
