Hi all,
I've just bought the Car Pack 2 and 3, but under the downloads list, it wont download.
Clicking on the download button repeatedly, it says downloading, followed by a successful install - however after this the download button remains orange and the content is not installed.
From within GT5 it is not recognising the purchase either.
I'm using a USA GT5 disc, but playing on a UK PS3 with a UK registered PSN account.
Has anyone else experienced such a problem? Or can anyone advise if I've just wasted my money?
Thanks!

Thanks!
Ok so as much as some friends have told me, PS3 games do have a degree of 'region lock' with regards to DLC.
Looks like i'll have to buy a local copy.
Do you also happen to know if the DLC is transferrable?
ie. I live in the UK as a student, but head home to SE asia for the holidays every year. if i login with the same UK reg PSN ID, the DLC will not be available when im in SE asia right?

hi kenny,
ok i bought the car packs via PS store, and it appears on the downloads list.
however, im not sure if the carpacks are correct at around 100kb each, and it downloads real quick, and installs.
the problem is, the button is still clickable - which leads me to suspect it hasnt actually installed.
when i click the dlc button in the gt5 main menu, it says - 'there is no downloaded content'
i returned to account management -> transaction management -> downloads list, 'redownloaded' the 2 items, and it says it has installed but again the game doesnt recognise it.
ive restarted the ps3, logged in multiple times but still to no avail.
i think i possibly just wasted 8 pounds. its quite disappointing.
funny, i had a singapore registered psn account too, but i got locked out of it when i tried to login here. sometimes psn really irritates its users

Hi Mechenge. You will need to buy a UK copy of the game in order to be able to access the DLC content. It will not work with games or accounts from other regions.
When you return home for the holidays in future, the DLC will still work so long as you use a UK copy of the game with your registered UK ID and on your existing PS3. This would mean transporting your PS3 home which I know might not be convenient.
The 100kb files you refer to are essentially keys to unlock the DLC content on your console. You know those patches GT5 sometimes prompts you to download when you start up the game? Yeah, they often have the new DLC included in them. ![]()

Hi,
Thanks for the info! Yes unfortunately that is rather inconvenient. I have a ps3 at home too, so am i right to say then when i go home, and use my UK game with UK PSN on my other ps3 unit, this wont work either?
thats rather crappy, unfortunately. beyond the next 2 years that ill be here, i intend to sell this ps3 unit here and just use the one i have at home. which then means the PSN ID and game files might not sync up
Cheers for the info. gotta run out to get cheap used uk copy of the game haha.
Thanks again!
Nick
