Dissatisfaction

I just purchased and began playing GT5 prologue, I had not been intending to buy this game as I lost interest in GT after the first,

However I believed that this version would be better (for obvious reasons like it being platinum for one), I could not have been more mistaken!

The handling of the cars is ridiculously stiff and the game does not have any of the features a game of this caliber should,

E.g., performance upgrades, alterations etc.

I under stand that this is just an example of what GT5 is going to be like and if that Is the case I would never consider buying it!  Now in saying that,I have played this game for the last couple of days incase it got any better and from what I have experienced I believe the creators should take a good look at other racing games that are out there and what they have to offer gamers, then take a page out of their book, scrap this game and start afresh!

So if you are considering buying it I strongly recommend you RECONSIDER if you ask me the game play could have been better on the PS1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Dissatisfaction

The only valid point you made there was about the handling being stiff, which is an opinion you are of course entitled to. I would recommend trying out some different settings though. Have you tried Professional physics, and with no assists? I know for certain that most of the cars get pretty 'loose' when set up like that.

As for your complaints regarding a lack of features, you did read the box when you bought it right? It's a prologue, with a very limited set of features relative to the full release. Tuning and modifications are things we are all but gauranteed to get with the full version. Also, we can expect to recieve a huge number of cars and tracks, with rumours flying about potential track editors, weather effects, full blown damage, night and day cycles, the list goes on.

In short, don't let GT5P's feature deprived offering influence your decision to buy the full GT5. It will be an entirely different game altogether.

Re: Dissatisfaction

LOL, he was probably on standard physics with all assists on...

Of course you are entitled to your opinion, but perhaps a little more research would go a long way?  Try going into professional, taking off the ASM and TCS (I seriously can't understand how people can actually race with these things on) and letting rip.  My forecast:  More spins than the opposition in an election year.

I for one love driving, both in real life and on GT5, and with my G25 and seat set up, professional physics and assists off, it gets pretty realistic.  Not perfect, no, but good for a game.

And as the others have said, this is a prologue.  The last prologue was for GT4, and it was just a series of licence tests, so this is acually pretty good.

Re: Dissatisfaction

He does read replies to his posts, And he has tried it on profesional with assists off!

However if this is a sample of what is to come either thew need more  feeback like mine or maby it wasn't worth the 5 years they spent on it, because i'm sure that there are plenty of other people out there like me who have been turned off by a crappy prologue and won't bother spending their money on a game that takes this long to make and they still havn't got a sample as good as the original GT

Re: Dissatisfaction

I'm glad you have replied, nothing more annoying than a one post wonder.

However I don't think what you were giving was feedback, merely whining.  I for one, really enjoy Prologue as it gives everything it promised - a sample of the physics (which is great in my opinion, barring a couple of annoying bits), the online, the cars and tracks, new interior view, menu system, drift mode.  Sure I had to pay for it, but I have had hours of enjoyment out of it.  Thats what I expected, no more.  Sure the AI needs work, but who knows what the devellopers will achieve by March.

GT5 is not out yet.  If it was just a bigger prologue then it would be out.  But it's not.  Theres an upgrade to the physics engine, damage modelling, detailed customisation, modifying and tuning.  WRC, NASCAR licences, 1000 Cars (and there are some beauties), 70 tracks.  Ultra high resolution photo mode.  YouTube upload.    Rumoured to have day / night transitions and weather, livery editor and track editor.. Plus Polyphony Digital is usually very secretive with big news so there will be more yet, I guarantee it.

If you don't like the handling, fine.  Each to their own.  Just don't play it.  A lot of people I know can't play it because they can't get used to the handling.  Need For Speed is more their style, which is great if you're into that.  I'm not, but I didn't go into the Need For Speed section (is there even such a thing?) and tell everyone it sucks and not to buy it becasue the handling is unrealistic...

That would simply be my opinion, and instead of flaming on teh internetz, I chose not to buy it.

So please, for the sake of having a grown up forum, think before you post.

Re: Dissatisfaction

That may be all well and good, But my intention was not to tell people don't buy this game.

I meerley noticed that no one had mentioned any thing about the downfalls of this game and simply wanted to leave FEEDBACK  so that if any one was trying to find out about the game prior to buying it they had both sides of the story.

Unlike myself who could only find people saying how good the game was, then after buying it found it to be a waste of money!!!!!!!
