This thread is for letting your imagination run wild, and coming up with some awesome 'unlock' ideas for features you would love to see in GT6.
After posting a line in another thread I started thinking how I would love to be able to do this.
I'm talking 'voice recognition'.
So this is what I'm thinking.
After reaching the appropriate lvl to start endurance races, you unlock voice recognition.
This way you can communicate with your crew chief and tell him what you want at the next pit stop.
First things first, you must let him know your coming in, or else you'll find all the boys sitiing on their chairs reading FHM, and you'll suffer a time loss penalty in the pits.
Anyway, after letting him know your coming in, you can specify fuel load, tyre choice, etc.
Plus ,maybe when on track, you could ask for time checks for drivers infront and/or behind.
Alternatively, for B Spec you would obviously take the other role and become the voice of the crew chief.
I'm thinking access to 2 channels.
1 for the driver, the other for the pit crew.
You could tell your driver to speed up, slow down, pit next lap, etc., and then you could tell the pit crew fuel load, tyre choice, driver change, etc.
So what do you think?
I have a few other ideas as well which I'll put up if no-one else beats me too it.
Anyway, put on your thinking caps and come up with some brilliant ideas.
Give us some features that will blow the devs. minds.
Who knows, someone may just read your idea and think ... 'Hey, we could do that!'

I love that idea. Forget all those timing screens and lap counters, ask the team for this information instead.
I've got one. I would like to be able to drive a team truck to the racetrack, complete with my team car and my team mates car. Make it more of a team thing to make you thing about strategy rather than just going all out for the win.
Actually, I think that might be two ideas

that was a great idea tassie_tiger.
i think the idea far from gt4 and now for gt5. when we race for regular progress (like a wind, la festa cavallino, hot hatches, etc) we race against both friends and ai. what i mean is;
-friends' car and lap times are simulated by ai. (if they already did the event)
-available/online friends can join the race.

Brilliant ideas one and all.
My idea seems positively, simple (idea wise anyway not necessarily in implementation) by comparison, but I would like to be able to have full 360 degree look round capability from your prefered driving position, so for example if you drive from the cockpit, if you are overtaking someone you would be able to watch them the whole time from the moment you see them in front of you, to when they are travelling backwards alongside you to when they are behind you (assuming of course the straight was long enough and there are no bodywork blind spots) as opposed to the current forward/mirror/backwards views.

Since you've asked for fantasy unlocks, how about this?
At some level, one of the two chicanes on the back stretch of La Sarthe converts into a fast food drive-thru. You can pull in, order from a selection of pizzas or other meal options, your PS account is charged, your order and registration details are transmitted to one of several local pizza joints which are on-board with the promotion, and 30 minutes later your pizza arrives at your door. It's a virtual drive-thru that delivers your actual dinner. How sweet is that??
It could actually work, in theory...

Ok... so you want a fantasy unlock? I will give you a fantasy unlock!
There is a racing complex being built in Sweden called the Gotland Ring. This track comprises six sections which can be used individually for different races, but also combined including all six sections as one long track.
Level 5: Section One Unlocked
Level 10: Section Two Unlocked
Level 15: Section Three Unlocked
Level 20: Limited Combinations Allowed
Level 25: Section Four Unlocked
Level 30: Section Five Unlocked
Level 35: Section Six Unlocked:
Level 40: Full 28km Combination Allowed
Yeah, that's right. Gotland Ring Full Race Course is 28km!!!! Longer than the Nurburgring Type-V!!!
Now how is that for a fantasy unlock?! It sure beats winning a car any time of the day!

I like the idea of being the voice of the crew chief, Tiger, but I must expand upon that; i'd like to see more of a team racing focus in some races - you've got six drivers in GT5, but for most of the time you can only enter one driver at a time in B-Spec.
I wouldn't mind if you could enter two drivers in two different cars for the same race. In more championship style events, this could bring a whole different level of competition, since if one driver always wins but the other always comes last, another two-man driver team could still be in with a chance of winning on points.
I'd also like to be able to set up an A-Spec or B-Spec race against my B-Spec drivers, that could earn them and me some XP points.

Mechanical failures, from blown engines to a broken gearbox etc etc. It would add a whole new edge to racing knowing that it could happen anytime, especially if you keeping bouncing it off the rev limiter all the time or downchanging too quickly. Full damage too please so if you hit the barriers at certain speeds or angles it's race over.
Qualifying for events should also be added but they must first make the AI a lot tougher to beat.
