Alright, I admit it right away that this might not belong in here, but is kinda connected with the whole Gran Turismo series. so here goes.
A guy at the GTplanet server (who happens to be a Super Moderator) has started a serious Thread about GT5 vs FM4, being fully biased for FM4 obviously.
Got me banned just because I werent able to show him my RL cars like he wanted, not to mention the fact we had some arguements about "simulator" parts of both games, where he believes FM4 has nailed every single detail in it and GT5 hasnt done anything right at all.
So I am kinda curious to hear how can a person ever disagree with a Super Moderator, especially when the guy is making serious requests about your own personal life and accepts nothing but his own view about these games ?
Not to mention he tried to force me to describe every single detail for him why I believe (and know) why a FM4 aint even a near to a simulator, but the truth is, I couldnt ever describe that kinda information in English because it isnt my primary language.
Any thought is welcome.

I'm an admin myself at a forum.
RoninGT is a small Gran Turismo forum but with a strong, and dedicated membership.
Our philosophy there regards moderation is "less is more", we actively promote dialogue regards comparable racing games both on the PS3 and other platforms and allow the members space for expression.
Moderation comes more in the way of advising to our members how they should conduct themselves in their post to the forum, rather than what opinions they may have.
Unfortunately not all forums are moderated in the same way, but this should not necessarily reflect badly on the forum itself. We are just lucky that being small allows us to keep a tight ship with just a small number of moderators. That way we know each other and how to deal with things as a team.
Large forums require a much bigger team of moderators, and when this happens sometimes incidents can be miss managed, despite the general intentions of the forum itself.
Not knowing the details of your incident with the moderators at the forum you mention, I cannot give specific advise, but it would probably be better to have pursued it with other admins at the forum rather than posting about it here.

Hi Zeerious, sorry to hear about your problems over on GTPlanet.
I am not a member of GTPlanet so I can't guarantee everything I say will be right so apologies in advance if I make a mistake, but the first thing I will say is this "Super Moderator" is completely out of order, there can be NO possible reason for him to ask for ANY information about your personal life and where you live and you are right not to give it to this person.
I have had a quick look at the site and you can appeal your ban by going to an administrator/site regulator/owner, I found this link to the appeal section.
http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/private.php?do=newpm
That should take you to where you can contact the site regulator who I believe is higher than a "Super Moderator" and make your appeal/complaint.
How do you disagree with a this kind a person?, well, their actions speak of the kind of person they are. Clearly they are so full of their own self importance I don't think you could ever win an argument with them, BUT, just maybe if an administrator is aware of the fact that this person is banning people for not giving personnal information or disagreeing with them maybe, and that is a BIG maybe this person will have their moderation authority stripped.
The old saying power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely seems very true of this person.
I must admit I looked at some of the rules and the site IMO seems a bit fussy. No "text speak", "decent grammar", "correct use of capitals", etc. We are all in this supposedly for our love of the GT series, not to be judged on our use of english and grammar.
I am sure I speak for many when I say you will always be welcome here, despite you saying you don't have the ability to put the information this person wanted into English, I have always found your posts on this forum well written and easy to understand.
Good luck with this problem and I hope I have been able to be at least a little bit of help.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.
And I am well aware that this kinda of "thread" does not belong in here, just wanted to share the load from my shoulders to people who supposedly are a fans, or enthuasist to GT5 and not just a "judge, jury and the executioner"
And it's always good to hear my English can be understood, I am still learning aslong no one wants to hear me speak it (as I do in Eve Online)
Oh well, I may just focus on games and personal life more than worrying about some bloke who thinks I needed to become shut off.
Lets still keep GT5 alive and kicking, shall we?

Almost forget, the Link you posted, that leads at the bloke who has "more" control over the super Moderator, there is this thing why I cant have much use for that. The guy who banned me, made it impossible to do anything at the site at the moment, and my account seems to be banned Forever.
So, no access into GTplanet anymore, then.
Afterall, I didnt use any harsh language, didnt insult anyone only told things from my persective that has been experienced over the years.

Morning Sam,
I wouldn't see that as a great loss. I spent many hours reading posts at GTP and could see that, had I signed up, I would have lasted no more than a couple of days. It seems to me that Mods there think they are something special, and have achieved something, rather than dedicating their time for nothing more than their love of gaming. I also noticed one or two people getting away with total disrespect for other users, poor spelling, and the list goes on. I decided to give it a miss on the grounds that I wouldn't be able to express an opinion if I wasn't part of the cliche. Of course we all have the OPC for our ramblings but I suggest you join a forum where you can speak your mind, be made to feel welcome - whatever your viewpoint - and can concentrate on socialising among friends rather than worrying over your written English which, incidentally, is streets ahead of most natives! Me? I signed up with RoninGT and met a great bunch of guys of all ages and abilities. The point being, if you want to discuss Forza you can - or any other game for that matter - and people will either agree or disagree with you without rancour. I'm sure you'll find yourself a new second home soon and, hopefully, get over your GTP experience even though it must have left a bad taste in your mouth. Enjoy your weekend ![]()

Thanks for the reply.
I did also notice how those so called "GTP Moderators" thought how only their view for the things has some more value over everyone elses, which shouldnt be a moderators "job" at all, especially when its turning into personal rant by their side.
I will not miss the GTplanet that much, sadly I tried to get some people from there to join into my Photomode Online aswell and had some good blokes to join me with that, now my Thread about it will be lost in cyberspace just because a 1 guy who attacked me with utter nonsense that had nothing to do with the games the place were supposed to be for.
Usually I dont have much time to spent over the internet, checking mainly things or two about possible GT5 patches and such, did the "forum play" when I was an active iRacing player, it turned into a disaster at some point and I lost my interest in that.
