This, also, compare the number of users who bought Xbox just because of Forza with the number of users who bought PS3 just because of Gran Turismo.
Sales: that is another reason to not worry about the competion.
Add up all of the sales for all versions of FORZA (10M) and you will get a number smaller than a total for one "bad" GT version. I'd take a bad year with GT any day.
Let's face it. GT fans have nothing to worry about. ![]()

Dont forget The even cheaper Platnium version of GT5 will release. For those who dont like downloading patches over their Download size capped Broadband and paying full price for the game.
Its not going anywhere...

Im not worried about GT5's future because i love it, recently done the trophy with the GT-R lap time and loved every minute of it because it took me something like 3-4 laps to beat the time and the game just gets you hooked and makes you work harder and makes you understand the car's responses and such. In my eyes GT5 is a great game but im just annoyed that GT5 gets slandered everytime, nearly all PS3 games and the PS3 itself for that matter. I defend GT5 and the PS3 as much as i can but get nowhere and bombarded with fanboys lol. FM4 does look good but im not going to buy an Xbox for it, i am not a fan of the 360 as i see no real point in it other than a gaming machine you have to pay monthly or yearly for.....Lol.

While GT has set the bar for a long time and dominates total sales (60 million + to Forza's near 10 million) that doesn't mean that another series/game can't raise the bar and overtake in time.
I don't plan on going out and buying an xbox either but I have to admit Turn 10 have really stepped up. The premium cars all done at over 1 million polygons (isn't GT5 at 500,000 polygons?) and the game runs at 60fps per second. Of course, we have to wait to see how the new physics engine actually looks but when they recruited Pirelli to work directly on the tyre dynamics, it's clear they were determined to eliminate some of Forza 3's flaws.
For sure, PD have a style and craft of their own which makes them unique but there's a risk that they're going to look stale, especially in the face of Turn 10's latest effort which they managed to put together in around 2 years while also making the most of the licenses they obtained.

I was very tempted to buy XBOX360 already when Forza 3 was released just because I'm big fan of the 3rd gen Pontiac Trans-Am which is in that game. I managed to resist though and stick with Playstation & Gran Turismo but gotta admit Forza 4 looks quite interesting.
One big negative thing in XBOX which helps me greatly staying with PS3 is that you have to pay for the XBOX Live to get access to the online content, I don't much like XBOX controller either, I much more prefer the PS3 controller but steeringwheel controller would be of course the best for both consoles playing driving games like GT & Forza. Of course Blu-Ray is missing also from XBOX360 but it's also cheaper to buy than PS3
Haven't played any Forza games but looking at Forza4 graphics it looks as good as GT5 and if the driving physics is also good, only thing which can make it interesting over GT5 is the car selection and tracks
I'm hoping GT5 will get more new cars and tracks via DLC so that thing won't matter either so it basically comes down to which console you happen to own as both are platform exclusive games.

Not me, thats for sure. GT is for the pureist and long may it stay that way! Its all about the race. Leave the gimmicks to Forza.
Nonsense, Any and probably every Top Gear fan would love the Top Gear presenters (yes even Captain Slow), to give us talk on a car or talk us around a track giving us pointers where the best lines are etc,, im sure PD would now better than i do with ideas on how to impliment the Top Gear presenters into the game, but its safe to say we would like to have them in the game.
Its just like Tiff Nedall did on SuperCar Challenge.
As for gimmiks, well, its a gimmick they have a proper marketplace to sell their cars, its also a gimmik that they can fully design a livery for their cars, and both are gimmicks i would have loved to have got on GT5.

What was very disapointing for me about GT5 is the FULL car gifting was taken away from us and now a we have a 1million credit limit on cars we can send, thats totally disgusting, they should know it was just a case of simply blocking the ability to gift the Red Bull car, NOT cut everyone down to a 1million credit limit.
I was a bit disapointed and somewhat suprised to see "Standard cars in the game, though i had hopes of them eventually upgrading them into premium cars, which they might well do, if im remembering correctly someone at PD said there IS interiors already there for the standard cars.
One thing that has annoyed me from the start is that when you go off the track and look through your rear view mirror (While using the in-car view) you cannot see any dust in the rear view mirror, yet when you quickly look back over the rear seats you can see dust. Whats that all about?

Major Top Gear fan here, and honestly I couldn't think of anything more anit-GT series than a cheap gimmick like this.
For me, this idea is definetly a turn off.
Regarding the credit limit with car gifting.
Considering the abuse with duping, this was the one and only option that PD had.
I for one totally agree with the decision.
Don't blame the developers, blame the players that look endlessly for quick cheat options.
As per usual, and in almost every aspect, including PSHome, it's people like this that force seemingly uneccesary restrictions being applied to all users.
Some may suggest that glitchers keep developers on their toes, I say that all they do is essentially ruin the experience for the majority of players by forcing such restictions on developers.
Each for their own I guess, but that's my thoughts.

I peresonally dont think it will be a match for GT5. GT5 has the driving physics of cars almost perfect and with the addition of damage i think it has moved a step further.
Also for everyone saying they were dissapointed with only 200 premium cars we knew that was going to happend becasue the first GT of any console always has less than the second on the console, eg GT2 on PS1 had 600 cars, GT3 on PS2 had only 180. and as we see history has repeated itself and will continue. the next GT for ps3 will have more cars cause my guess is right now all of the employees are making all the standard cars premium for the next GT
Forza aslo will never stand up to GT for the reason that many of the good steering wheels such as the logitech systems wont work with it due to microsoft being greedy and wanting you to buy one there own.

On the subject of the TG presenters, the only place that I think they would work is if one or all of them were the narrators for the little introductory video of the Test Track in the TG special event.
And Standards to Premiums is unlikely in large numbers, if at all in this game. It's not like PD can flip a switch and the cars are Premium, as I've seen people on the internet suggest.
Maybe a few choice cars that are already pretty good quality and are popular, such as the Stratos or Veyron, but I guess we'll see.

No kidding.
Some people seem to think this data just materialises out of nowhere. Some of these cars don't even exist anymore. For example, the AEM drift car was sold to someone in Sweden and doesn't look the same anymore. Fortunately for us, it is a Premium car. The only data PD can use for some Standard cars is old data, if any particular car in past GTs doesn't exist anymore.
Not only does the data team take as much as a day to record a car shape, colour and sound (the Trans-Cammer took a full 7 hours), but there is travel time between shoots, too, such as when the team did the NASCAR cars. At least for them, they could do more than one car at one location.
So, whether a car ends up as a Preemie or not depends on so many other things than just us wanting them.
