Re: G25 and DrivingForce GT

The G27 releases this month and numerous reviews have gone up about the wheel.  All positive as it takes the awesome G25 and improves it in a few places that needed a tweaking.  Just need an excuse to buy one....

Re: G25 and DrivingForce GT

Crap the G27 is selling for a full $100NZ more. That definitely complicates things for me the G27 features sound cool but maybe not $100 cool...

Re: G25 and DrivingForce GT

nah the G27 is better but not $100 better

Helical gears (slightly quieter)

LED display

more buttons on the wheel

no sequencial shifter (H pattern only) but better H pattern

I used to have a cool sig and avatar, but they don't work anymore :smileysad:

Re: G25 and DrivingForce GT

Since using the G25 for a few years now, the updates in the G27 make me wanna turf the old G25 and grab a G27.  And will likely do so come GT5 launch.  Although the updates are minor, they were needed and fix just about every gripe I have had with the G25.  Just to update your list PAPO

Helical gears for Force Feedback - slightly quieter, smoother feel

LED Gear Shift display - On games that support it

More buttons on the wheel - Finally!! :smileyvery-happy:

No sequential shifter (H pattern only) but better H pattern - Still have paddle shifter

Brake+Clutch pedals are raised for heel/toe shifting without having to modify pedal box.

The only cars I know of with fixed paddals are rally cars, how ever there shifters are so big u can't miss them , pluss they need to grab a hand brake at some stage to. Now F1 & turingcars all have paddels that move with the wheel, coz when racing these cars on track ,you need 2 hands on the wheel at all times. Iv never hade a drammer with ont reaching the paddels coz my hands r in the same place all the time. Oh i have a G25 , love it ,makes u drive a lot better. You all should try V8Factor , it sorts out the men from the boys

*****, looks like I'm not changing gear then! Joking aside, I would have thought keeping two hands on the wheel was obvious.  The common misconception is hands being in the 10 to 2 position.  I find that un-natural, so I always drive with my hands in the 3.45 postion.

Most steering wheels are set up for this driving position.  Each to their own, but you will find most racing drivers race with their hands in the latter position.

Re: G25 and DrivingForce GT

I'll just bumb this dinosaur.

Anyone know of any places that have a DFGT in stock for less than $150? Heck, does anyone have an old DFGT/G25/G27 that they would be willing to sell (assuming decent condition at least)? I'm going to enquire DSE about the DFGT's on their site for $140, but they say instore only, and no stores near me have stock. I'll go in and ask on Thursday, but I'd like to know alternatives too. Wheels sure are hard to find at times.

I know. I would scrounge up $200-$250 for one of them  babies used though, as they're good quality wheels. Still, hard to find these things... Eh, let's see if there's any good deals anyway.

EDIT: Although it seems people are asking pretty much retail price for some of the used G series wheels, which is pretty nuts. Ebay might be good for a DFGT if I can't get one from DSE though.
