Hey everyone,

We are pleased to announce this years GT Academy is almost ready to begin.

Australia and New Zealand have been excluded from this and so anyone trying to purchase the DLC for this will not be able to.

For those who are unaware of what GT Academy is, it's a competition where you have your chance to evolve from a Gran turismo driver to a real life race driver!

From 5pm BST today (May 1st) until 24th June (Midnight BST) you can download the exclusive Gran Turismo Academy content from the PlayStation®Store free of charge. Then all you need to do is take part in the the 8 rounds fortnightly. Each round consists of 5 sections to drive with Round 8 being the final round and a qualification event.

 

Round 1 and 2:

1/5 (Tue) 17.00BST – 24/6 (Sun) 23:59 BST

Round 3 and 4:

14/5 (Mon) 00:00 - 24/6 (Sun) 23:59 BST

Round 5 and 6:

28/5 (Mon) 00:00 - 24/6 (Sun) 23:59 BST

Round 7 and 8 (ROUND 8 IS FINAL/QUALIFICATION EVENT):

6/11 (Mon) 00:00 - 24/6 (Sun) 23:59 BST

Gotta love the GT Academy event.

I'll give it a go .. probably won't get far, but a great challenge nevertheless.

its taking ages to download prob cos tonnes of other people are doing the same thing, i will be S**T at this, i did the last one a few years ago before i even bought GT5 and was so dire i gave up on the 2nd corner, not sure what track it was and promptly deleted the academy event.

For each round, if you earn all gold trophies. You get the cars for the full GT5 game.

I don't need to download the thing from the ps store if I have the game do I, can't see anything to do with gt academy in game?

it would have been a nice touch to do it from in game but i suppose this way their opening the competition to everyone.

It's a seperate download from the PlayStation  Store. So you don't need your GT5 disc in your PS3 either. It's available to everyone
