Gran Turismo

I have not totally given in, but I have done so much better than I expected.

Finally got the gold in the 7.5 (so that's all gold's in rounds 1 to 7)

I have got the first 2 gold's in round 8,  the next 2 I have silver, and in 8.5 just managed to get bronze.

As I nearly 50, have not played racing games since the PS1 (except a little on the PSP), I did not have Gran Turismo 5 until after I started the Academy, I don't feel that is to bad.

Now need to get a steering wheel me thinks

Good for you. Keep playing and you will get even better, I'm sure. I'd also recommend looking up ghost replays of the current top drivers or alternatively check out youtube. Its a great way to learn better driving/braking lines to help get those golds.

I've had more fun doing round 8 and was quite pleased to top my friends list on I think 8-1 and 8-3 a few days ago.. although a couple of the really fast guys I know had yet to start rounds 7 and 8 at that time. I haven't managed a clean lap yet on 8-5.

I have tried with downloading the ghost cars, but I find it more off putting at the moment (keep trying avoid it, as if it was another car to overtake )

This is all news to me MastrGT. Can't remember when I completed the 6th round but if it is showing all golds and a relevant sub gold times then I suppose all is well? I do remember seeing a server comm error msseage when doing either round 7 or 8 but can't remember which round/event this occured on. Again, shows all golds apart from a silver in 8-5 which I assume I have to get gold to receive the car and the circuit.

I have been trying to stick to the suggested gear, did not realise that being in a higher gear you could stay on the track, as I was having SO MUCH trouble controlling this car.

wheelspin is the killer on hthis challengeas tidgney demonstates using higher gears go some way to alleviating, but u need to keep engine speed up so dont get bogged down

It's finally here,

The Tutorial on rounds 8-5 in GT Academy, apologies for the delays but when it takes 9 hours to upload 2 hours to process, and 4 hours to compress you can see why it takes such a long time!!!

The video is fairly long so if your after a specific corner feel free to just check the timestamps in the description and you should be able to navigate to that particular corner very easily. I watched it fully through myself and I'm quite surprised how engrossing the video is!

All golds now Except 8-5, have managed to get it to silver tonight. Going to watch Tidgney's video, and see if that helps me out.

Looks a good video, would recomend everyone watch it.
