GT Junior Academy

i just thought of this idea and i decided to post it to see what u guys think

wouldnt it be gr8 if polyphony open up a junior academy for young aspiring drivers, say U16. They could do it in the same way they're doing the main gt academy but instead of having the end result as a driving oppurtunity for the GT team they could set the kids on their way by giving them a drive in the ginetta juniors or some other junior motorsport.

To become a racing driver u need a lot of money to start off but the junior academy could give the talented, less fortunate youths a chance to start a career in racing and polyphony coulf sponsor the children that become successful in the academy.

anyone else with me on this one?

Re: GT Junior Academy

The more of SONY/PD's attention that gets divided, the more GT will suffer.

PD's primary focus should remain on developing the game.

With karts, there should be enough feeders to car racing.

Re: GT Junior Academy

im talking about post gt5 time and also kart racing is very expensive, u wanna buy a good kart ur gonna have to spend well over a grand. in the normal academy most of the drivers are in their young 20s and its pretty much too late to get into a major form of motorsport but youngsters learn much quicker so they will have more time and more opportunities and a lot of kids that look to motor racing need someone to guide them down the right path if they're not that well off, financially

Re: GT Junior Academy

I understand what you are saying and what you want, but racing is expensive no matter how it is done. That means it is expensive for the organisation around the Academy now, too. It's not cost-free, either.

If you feel that the GT Academy is doing it wrong, then you should try to convince them that they should look at younger people first, not adults. I'm sure they had their reasons to go with the older group initially, though, so it may be a tough sell.

Re: GT Junior Academy

First off, hello Mahi... long time no see :smileyhappy:

As to your suggestion of a junior GT Academy, I just cannot see it happening I'm afraid.

I would think there might be issues with insurance and the fact PD would be responsible for non adults, which is probably why they pitch the current age limit  for the GT Academy at 18+ only.

Re: GT Junior Academy

I think it would be a brilliant idea, there are alot of people who would like to get into racing but cannot afford it, when I was younger I was one of those people.

This would allow a lot more aspiring racers a way in, PD and Sony have the money to sponsor young aspiring racers that have proven they could have what it takes to be successful.

Lets not forget how Lewis Hamilton got into it, his dad had to take on a second job to fund him through karting until Ron Dennis noticed him, he was lucky that Ron did notice him at a kart race, he would not be in F1 now if that had never happened.
