For a long time I talked with my son about doing a 2 or 4 hour race together where each of us take 2-5 stints and then change driver.

And  then I thought this could be turned into a competition where we see who make most laps. It should be one of the races in Extreme Events or Endurance Events.  I think a camera would be enough to verify who wins.

Anybody interested? You don't have to be a team, but it would be more funny if You are.

Actually i'm interested in this as if it was possible i have yet another themed raced up my sleeve but based on being able to do lots of laps.

How do you propse to do a 2 hour race online?

think he means on GT4, you could do lann races in that one.

It's not going to be a online race while GT4 doesn't support this. But a online meeting on a homepage or over msn where laps/positions are added every 10 minutes or so, supported by a mobile phone photo or so.

Everybody who's participating will be able to vote for what car and what track is going to be used. I'll take the decision a few hours before and publice it. We'll have to make sure that the B-spec mode is not an option by coosing a car/track where a human is faster. People will have a couple of hours to practice, when decided.

Of corse it would be much easier if we could do it in a GT5P online race, but as You know it is only possible to do 2-3 laps in the online races. I haven't had GT4 on the PS2 for ½ year or so (except taking a lot of photos to my homepage), and I miss the tracks, cars and the races there. I've even not seen the difference in graphics.

Oh on the PS2. Not got that set up for online play and thought you meant the PS3 with GT5.

Stil i have lots of ideas for different races when we can get private lobbies.

It is not possible to race online in GT4. You just got to have the game and a PS2 to participate.

It is possible to race online with GT4 by using Xlink.

That's amazing BJM.... does that actually work? And how does it work? Do you connect the PS2 to the PC with a LAN cable instead?

I'm up for a GT4 competition, providing it's held at a reasonable time for me. Still have a lot of love for GT4 - more circuits, more cars, great fun!
