Hi all, just installed the GT5 2.04 update and sadly I'm experiencing game freezes and significantly worse looking graphics. It looks like playing GT5 on a wii!! Anyone else having these issues?
Cheers

Hey orbitaldebri,
Not heard of this issue before.
If you've restarted your console already, I'd next suggest deleting the game data and then reinstalling from scratch. (Bear in mind, this will mean reinstalling the game, and then downloading the patches again).
Are you aware of anyone else that's downloaded the patch with the same issue?

I've done the update okay on two different systems now and no one else seems to have had this issue either. Just very unlucky it seems. ![]()
I'd suggest backing up your save data to a USB but still leave the original file in place.
Then go ahead and delete the game data and you won't lose a single thing progress-wise. This may take some time as the game data is quite sizeable.
After that, start the game up and it will automatiically prompt you to reinstall the updates and the game data. This will also take considerable time.
Your save data will automatically slot back into place.
Good luck!

I updated last night. No issues on my end.
Hopefully installing a new game data will sort you out.

Hey all, just updated to PS3 firmware 4.10 and guess what....the game's back to looking like it used to! Must've been something to do with data corruption in the console itself. I haven't had any stability issues either save for once during an open lounge online race.
Will keep driving and report back on the progress. Thanks to everyone who's helped.
Cheers

I've been experiencing freezes when playing online. I'll do a complete race and when it's over and the race finish delay clock hits 0 my car keeps going around the track and I have no control over it. The only thing it does is slow down when I press the START button, and speeds up when I press it again. I also noticed that cars in my garage are showing in different colors or are not visible at all, but when I select a car then the custom paint job I bought is still there. My RM NSX shows as white when I'm looking at all my cars in the garage, but once I select it to enter a race it's my custom green paint job. I started the PS3 in safe mode, selected option 3 and the PS3 told me there was corrupted data. It goes through the motions but doesn't fix the problem, and if I start in safe mode again it still tells me there is corrupted data. This morning I started in safe mode and choose option 4, "rebuild database." I lost all messages in my mailbox, but was able to race in three different rooms for about 45 minutes without problems; then raced at Spa for 10 laps and the screen froze on me after the race had ended. I notice that the PS3 clock stops, too, and when I press the PS button to turn off the system it takes a little while to shut down, and when it does I hear 3 beeps.

Hi there,
It's normal to see the 'corrupted data' message when using option #3 via the safe mode menu.
It's also normal to hear 3 beeps if you force turn off your console manually by holding the power button on the console at any point.
For your issue with the game freezing / running slow, I would suggest deleting the Game Data Utility file for the affected game. (Unless it's more than this game that's experiencing the issue)
Deleting Game Data will not delete your progress (this is in the Saved Data Utility folders).
It will mean you will need to reinstall the game from the disc, and then download and install any / all patches and DLC you've previously installed, so it could be a lengthy process.
