Im loving the game ,it is quite literally the most beautiful and comprehensive Racing game EVER created. Some people just like moaning because it makes them look like they know something everyone else doesnt, which simply isnt the case they are just moaners.

To test how real "the real driving simulator" is...it isn't. I've won every race ive been in up to now, all gt mode.

It seems a very weird choice to gimp the game till level 20 if thats the case, again a very bad first impression.

On the packet, it clearly said to heat on full power for 6 minutes, for a 850w microwave. Truth be told I wasn't completely happy that it was heated through until very close to the 8 minute mark!!!! I fear my microwave may only be 750w but to be honest I don't know, having said that I thought all you guys would like to hear about it anyway.
Anyway we digress....
I took my knife and fork out and ate a tiny bit of the mash potato, which I didn't like one bit! I assumed the rest of my ready meal will be the same so I threw it away.
Just so you know I have been a lifelong fan of Cottage Pies so I must be telling the truth.
You say you are a lifelong Cottage Pie fan and yet you wait until today to give your first post on the Fry's Veg Express forums!!
I smell bull!!!!

Actually just to prove i dont moan about everything...forza 3 is fantastic and a much better racing simulation. It's about critiquing a game that’s been in development for 5-6 years and really hasn't progressed the series much beyond the ps2 generation of games. Yes theres a lot of content and the cars are very shiny but when it boils down to it the internet features aren’t as comprehensive as forza and neither are are the collision physics and damage modelling systems.
Maybe you’re genuinely very impressed with the “improvements” made since gt4 and gt5 prologue, but they’ve spent far too much time making things reflect perfectly in headlights and making 1000+ cars and forgot about some key mechanics and features for a racing simulation. Pro evolution soccer has been left behind because it became stagnant, each version on the ps3 and 360 has been based of an ageing ps2 engine and gran turismo imo has followed in its path.
Like I said, im a long time fan of the gran turismo series and that’s what motivates me to post on the gran turismo forum as you hope the issues are heard and taken on board for gt6.

While you might get slated for this (mentioning Forza 3) I see where you are coming from. All though I have not played Forza 3, I have nothing to comapre it to, but the game just feels unfished, which in my eyes spoils it. I will keep this game and I will still like it, but for a game in development for aslong as it has been, it really should be better. And for what it's worth, I think some of the standard cars are pretty terrible, along with the shadows.

I completely agree with the reviews so far, I might even rate it lower to be honest. There are a few good points to the game though.
Pros
Superb graphics, every track and its environment is just great to look at. The photo travel mode as well is simply amazing, love taking pictures of these very detailed premium cars in the different locations available.
Every premium car looks fantastic inside and out. Its so much better to be driving one of the premium cars over the standard cars. Why couldn't the standard cars all be like this as well?
Cons
My main annoyance with this is that you can't search for a car, instead you are given around 30 cars to chose from, which change when you go to and from the used car dealership, which in my opinion is ridiculous as I can't currently do a certain few races because these cars aren't showing up. Also most of the standard cars look absolutely terrible, and this is the majority of the cars on the game. Agreed the premium models look brilliant, best I've seen in a racing game even, but I think PD could have done a lot more with this cars, they look like a simple 5 second copy and paste from GT4.
So even after I downloaded the 8GB (50 mins!) installation which states that loading times will be cut, I dread to think how long it takes to load without the installation. Most of the time the game takes a ridiculously long time to load from area to area that it is just becoming laughable.
Have only just now experienced this, my current car is a Ferrari 512BB '76, and somehow I managed to enter a hatchback race with my Ferrari. Now correct if I'm wrong but I'm sure the 512BB is not classed as a hot hatchback. Before the race I tried to change my car for the race to a Focus, but the game wouldn't let me because it didn't class the Focus as a hatchback. So that left me a bit confused.
I think PD have made a few mistakes with the new GT. 5 years in the making, really doesn't look like it. Hopefully they will patch the game in the coming weeks because at the moment its a bit of a mess.

Some of the menus are buggy and require a game restart and the lower end cars aren't of much quality either. Apart from that the game is rather good.

I'm one of those people that didn't one damage in anyway, I wanted a driving game not destruction derby.
For the game has started very well nothing I can moan at yet and am pleased with it but like I said I have just started. One thing that did slightly disappoint me though was on another forum a picture was taking of a rolling civic, nothing wrong with the quality but the photos look like they have come from GT4.
I would of thought the quality might have been a bit higher seeing that the game was 6 years in the making.
But so far I'm happy.

Yeah you're right i might get slated for saying forza 3 is better but that just proves people can't have a debate or a conversation on forum boards without fanboys in denial just gushing over it and ranting at people who disagree with them. It's good that a few people have actually started to respond with their own opinions rather than talking trash.
There's no way this game could be classed as the best racing sim tho, the only way you could believe that is if you havent played any since GT4. It's a shame that the internet features weren't fleshed out more like in forza with the auction houses and being able to customise decals to crazy levels and then sell them on, it really does create a sense of community and its also a nice break to browse the auction house. The guy above who mentioned destruction derby...this is supposed to be a racing SIMULATOR and if you pile into a car at 120mph in a real race it would do a little more than scratch the bumper. Granted its also a game so you dont want you career mode to end through death...but at least write off the car or damage its performance so you can't compete that way (which would take literally a few days of coding to put in place as its not visual its just limited engine/suspension/brake stats). A racing simulation should be about skill and finesse and you shouldn't be able to use your car like a bumper car to get into first position and with the AI as it is it can be unavoidable on occasions not to make contact as they randomly brake way too early for a corner. This isn't a new issue, it was in GT3 and 4 but a lots changed including the competition and forza 3 simply does a better job of the simulation part. Many forum posters would agree and the people who get paid to voice their opinion on games for a living certainly do.
Another issue is they way they've effectively split the cars into ones we spent time on and ones we didnt, should they have brought the number of cars down to say 300-400 so they could concentrate on having a consistent graphics and damage model across all of them?
I just hope they hear, they employ community leaders for this reason to take and respond to feedback. Hopefuly there will be a huge update where they patch in consequence for collisions like that and change the silly damage model unlock system in GT mode...racing sims should be realistic from race 1 and surely the license tests are the training wheels for those unfamiliar with the game.
